Achieving SUSTAINABLE Revival

The seven churches of the Revelation to John pretty much prove that sustainable revival for any length of time is not possible. Not saying it is impossible, but it simply isn't sustainable. This is a charismatic pipe dream (no offense). The seven churches actually represent the seven church ages, and I am convinced we are in the last, presenting to the world and to our God the characteristics of the Church at Laodicea:
Revelation 34 NASB
15 'I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot.
16 'So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.
17 'Because you say, "I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing, and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked,
18 I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.
This is today's church. Not all churches, of course, but the church in general. There are pockets of obedience and service throughout the Christian community, but in general, with the liberal churches having abandoned Christ for a social gospel and the world not paying any attention to the Word of God, this is where we are. Revival is needed, it will happen, but sustainable? Not until the time between the revival and the second coming is very short.
