Bible Study Adulterous Thoughts

I don't know if this has been discussed before in here, probably has, but, I think it's worthy of bringing up again. Please tell me how you REALLY feel about what Jesus said when He said: That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Here's a talk I had with a priest of a church. He's a relative.
That's why I said priest. NOT TO PICK ON ANYONE. Hey, a local Baptist preacher here was
tossed out for being an adulterer, he was caught in the act. So....it's everywhere.

I think most scholars of Ethics would agree that what Jesus meant was that
if a person looked at another person and entertained sexual thoughts and
consented to them ("If I had the chance I'd have sex with that person") then that
constitutes adultery. Simply having a few passing thoughts about how pleasant
it (sex with her) would be.....doesn't constitute adultery.
My reply:
The heart is desperately wicked, God says.
I think if I was looking at other men, and thinking sexual thoughts about them, that would
be wrong. Sometimes the scholars you refer to, are imbedded in sin, themselves.

Whilst learning all "this stuff" about history, I've learned, also, to check out the AUTHOR of
whatever paper or book I'm using as suggested reading, to compliment the course. Then I can
immediately know what to expect as far as slant goes. And, a lot of info out there is indeed,
slanted. That's ok, I still am finding out a lot.

Anyways.
If you knew your wife was lusting after some man in the neighborhood, and, every day, as you
were away from home, working, you noticed her flirting with that man, you know it would make you
feel uncomfortable.
The heart, the loins of the mind, so to speak, are to be filled with Jesus, so much to the brim, that
no room is left for adulterous thoughts.
Yes, it's hard to conquer, but we must, with God's help, crucify that. All things are possible with God.
This proverb is in the bible for a good reason: 4A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
Think how you, or your son, would feel, if his wife was constantly flirting with other men, smiling,
letting her eyes linger on another man, with a come hither look in her eyes.

Rottenness to the bones....when a piece of wood begins to rot, it rots from the inside, where hollow tubes are. Fungi gets into the tubes.
(adulterous thoughts permeate the mind, one becomes relaxed in their thoughts), and eventually, the fungi eats away at the cell walls in the
wood, which makes the wood more susceptible to water, which, when it settles in the wood, it gives a good place for MORE
fungi to grow, which eventually rots the wood to the point where it is but an outer shell, and one little push will shatter it.
Same with adulterous thoughts. Or sinful thoughts, which you don't submit to Jesus, nor repent of.
They will rot away at your soul, destroying the inner supports of faith and fidelity. One day, those thoughts, left unchecked,
cause you to feel comfortable in committing adultery, or, any other sin.
This is why it's wrong to look at another person, that's why Jesus says:
27Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

28But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
And, why He says this: 4A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

In my faith this is a call to chastity:

Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person and thus the inner unity of man in his bodily and spiritual being. Sexuality, in which man's belonging to the bodily and biological world is expressed, becomes personal and truly human when it is integrated into the relationship of one person to another, in the complete and lifelong mutual gift of a man and a woman.

The virtue of chastity therefore involves the integrity of the person and the integrality of the gift.

The more a Christian feed on God's word, he/she will be lead by the Spirit, but it also the Spirit that will lead one to feed on God’s word…..yes there desire will be to do God's will....their every waking moment will be focus on God and the things of God....I am speaking from personal experience……my mind is constantly focus of the things of God; His truth is more real to me than the things of this world. The Spirit of God in a Christian is infinity more powerful than the sinful nature that we were born with. The thing is we must feed on God's word daily, seeking to understand what He is telling us....We should do what we know we should do and not simply say it.

We should never value the words of men, even if it’s a pastor in our Church over the word of God. We should use God's words as the measuring stick against what is said on the pulpit or anywhere else by someone who claims to be someone of God, because Jesus said that many people would be deceived by false ministers, though acknowledging Jesus of the scriptures. Not that every time a minister says something that is not Biblical it means that he is a false minister. I have head ministers say certain things that were not Biblical, and I simply discard that and continue to listen. We should come to a point of maturity in our lives that we only hear Jesus’ words, as He said of Himself; my sheep hear my voice and only follow/listen me.

Amen, brother or sister! The measuring stick is always a straight rule!
Yes, the more we focus on Jesus, the more valuable we are for Him, and the more we can
see the difference between truth, and sin.
