Okay brethen, since i haven't travelled out of Nigeria so i'll use Nigeria as the case study for this thread.I can assure you there are more churches here than in US as you'll find at least two churches on every street.I remember we were once rated second most religious nation. However, corruption, robbery&ritual killings keeps growing.I want to affirm this caused largely in part by what our pastors preach.90% of them never talk about salvation, hell, last days,anti-christ so as not to scare people from coming to church and putting offerings. The focus is now Prosperity,Miracles(questionable ones),Gods promises et al.This is what i call 'Holy corruption' and thanks to my church-Deeper Life Bible Church for always reminding us the end is near and we must hold steadfast in holiness and shun latest jamboree trend in churches

I agree with you regarding the Nigerian scenario and it has found its way into a lot of the African Churches. I live in South Africa and have noticed a similar thing with the larger Churches in the country yet I believe a lot of the smaller churches are still fundermentally sound. The problem has its influence from Americans like Benny Hinn, who is one of the forerunners in the signs and wonders movement. I sympothise with you as it must be difficult watching people who claim to be Christians destroying the true work of our Lord Jesus Christ. Remember many will say they cast out demons in the name of jesus yet he will say I did not know you. I believe these are the people Jesus was talking about. Hold on to your faith and believe the true word of God.

Pastors in Africa are not the only ones...the rest of the globe is not too far behind. Christians are blind and don't know it...like the foolish virgins we/they are 'sleeping' at a critical time! :naughty

Meanwhile...the Devil knows his time is SHORT!
  • Revelation 12:12
12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. KJV

    2 Corinthians 11:13-15
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves
    into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as
the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. KJV
