Aldous Huxley inspirational quotes.....

An intellectual is a person who has discovered something more interesting than sex.

At least two-thirds of our miseries spring from human stupidity, human malice and those great motivators and justifiers of malice and stupidity: idealism, dogmatism and proselytizing zeal on behalf of religous or political ideas.

Maybe this world is another planet's hell.

Most human beings have an almost infinite capacity for taking things for granted.

That all men are equal is a proposition which, at ordinary times, no sane individual has ever given his assent.

There's only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self.

After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

A belief in hell and the knowledge that every ambition is doomed to frustration at the hands of a skeleton have never prevented the majority of human beings from behaving as though death were no more than an unfounded rumor.

A democracy which makes or even effectively prepares for modern, scientific war must necessarily cease to be democratic. No country can be really well prepared for modern war unless it is governed by a tyrant, at the head of a highly trained and perfectly obedient bureaucracy.

Children are remarkable for their intelligence and ardor, for their curiosity, their intolerance of shams, the clarity and ruthlessness of their vision.

Thanks to words, we have been able to rise above the brutes; and thanks to words, we have often sunk to the level of the demons.

But do you realise who & what Aldous Huxley inspired?

His brother Julian was high up in UNESCO & persuaded them to adopt the Aldous classic 'Brave New World' as the model for achieving a compliant population

Via what Tony Blair famously touted as his top priorities of 'education, education & education' - aka 24x7 brainwashing thru Govt controlled media

Do you know that a 1948 UN conference on Mental Heath defined mental illness in terms of non-compliance with 'authority'

Today, Blair is launching a new policy gimmick calling for all kids 11-18 to be taught 'core British values' - to achieve a 'more unified society'

From news coverage so far, acknowledging the proven historical record of the Christian faith in establishing education, health & welfare services for all does not appear to be a feature

The new EU Constitution's historical pre-amble made no mention of that either

'Brave New World' is preparing for the worst global tyrant ever: the Beast/Antichrist of 2 Thessalonians 2 & Revelation 13, etc

As the apostle Paul urged, 'Don't let the world squeeze you into its mould/capture you with vain philosophy..cast down vain imaginings & take every thought captive to Christ'

As he also said, 'The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty to tear down strongholds & everything that sets itself up against God'

None of the printed posts so far mention that great influence of the Bible & the Christian faith in UK history

BBC site always says it posts only 'a representative proportion of posts received'

But so often, the Bible-believing, evangelical Christian voice is stifled

Did anyone notice that, on BBC TV news earlier, the only person asked what they want to see taught in schools @ 'core British values' was from the Muslim Council

& he was allowed to get away with obvious ploys to divert attention from the teachings of Koran/Hadith in inspiring the 7/7 London bombings that gave rise to this new educational initiative

When he said he wants what Islam REALLY teaches to be put across, the interviewer made no attempt to say that all suicide bombers @ 7/7, 9/11, Bali, Madrid, etc, have all been serious Koran scholars who were merely following Mad Megalomaniac Mohammad's teachings & orders - to conquer the world thru violence & intimidation & impose global sharia law's beheadings, amputations & mutilations

Inspired by 'Brave New World'?

No I'm not

R U?

God bless!

Yes, and Christianity inspired the Crusades. Does that make Christianity bad?

I get so sick of all this, "So-and-so can be somehow linked to <insert bad thing here>, so everything So-and-so ever did is evil!" claptrap.

I think you have Huxley's intentions all wrong......

Huxley, however, has an altogether different agenda in mind. He is seeking to warn us against scientific utopianism. He succeeds all too well. Although we tend to see other people, not least the notional brave new worlders, as the hapless victims of propaganda and disinformation, we may find it is we ourselves who have been the manipulated dupes.

If someone were attacking tourists and killing them, stealing from them, raping women and confiscating Churches, should we as a Christian people do something to help? The historical record shows the above reasons were given to the peasant Crusaders, not to mention eternal salvation as a reward. Re-think what you wrote Art.

In the context of the time, the Crusades acted based upon valid reasons. You know what they say about hindsight.

Good post Ian.

BBC site always says it posts only 'a representative proportion of posts received'

But so often, the Bible-believing, evangelical Christian voice is stifled, boo hoo.

Did anyone notice that, on BBC TV news earlier, the only person asked what they want to see taught in schools @ 'core British values' was from the Muslim Council

Education initiative? Hmm. Whats really needed in Britain, is better education of Islam. Why? Because whether the British like it or not, Islam is on their doorstep, and with such a significance in Britain, it is a must that this religion is better understood- and that’s goes to say beyond the trash people like you come up with.

See, it’s people exactly like you, who have a minimal and very tunnel-vision idea of Islam, who need re-educating.

What so-called ‘Inspiring’ teachings are these? No doubt the twisted sort folk like you are all too quick to bring up.

All in all, I can see why a Christian fella like you is worried (although you needn’t be) about Islam in the UK. Its not a question of what Islam brings, but rather, who Islam kicks out of the seat. And yes, that so happens to be Christianity. Christianity has failed, and as we see today, Islam is flourishing in the UK. The masses are turning towards Islam, despite all the negative falsehoods imposed on it. Quite simply, the Churches are left high and dry, while people are flocking towards the Mosques. In all fairness, the teachings of Christianity are of no contest with Islam’s- thus you no longer use the positive (!) aspects of your own religion to propagate it, but rather ‘try’ to use the ‘negative’ (!) of the religion that is seeing to it, the dismissal of yours. Its your only hope, ‘God Bless’ (!)

You know, not everyone has the misinformed, twisted and deceitful view of Islam as you do.

Koran Scholars? You seem ever-more twisted the more you write. If a person merely reads the Glorious Quran, that automatically elevates him to the status of a Quran Scholar, does it? Even if years before they were the partying, drinking, gambling type? Just because no-one takes the Bible seriously anymore, doesn’t mean to say that if a person reads the Book of Allah, that that is an extraordinary achievement and he must be regarded as a Scholar. Pssshhh…get real.

And to add, the Quran isn’t Muhammad’s (may the peace and blessings of Allah Subahaana Wa Ta’ala be upon him) orders. Oh why bother explaining such a thing to you?

Blah blah blah- give it a rest dude.

Again, shows how ignorant you are. Learn, my friend. For you cannot ignore this phenomenon that is Islam.

And if your alliterative tosh is reasonable, then I do honestly believe no-one will find any of my comments offensive. J

-Bilal

Islam is the wide road to destruction.

What Bilal and most Muslims do not understand is that Christianity does not have to be dominant to be right. Quite the opposite.

This is what Jesus said about finding the narrow road:

Jesus taught and Matthew said:
The Narrow and Wide Gates

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Matthew 7:13-14
Still so happy to be on that broad road to destruction following Muhammad who allowed murder, rape, adultery, stealing, and had 9-11 wives and several concubines and slaves?
