Hey all. I don't want to start an argument, Or a debate, or anything. I just want to see if I am the only one seeing this, and it is something I am making up, Or if it really is happening here.

Do any of you users here feel that there is a small group of individuals that seem to get awawy with a bit more than anyone else, see posts where, some people can make hurtfull remarks, and nothing, but other people have theirs deleted, or scolded by mods?

Does anyone else see anything like this?

PLease though, Do not post, I just want to get a count, and then it keeps it "secret" so if anyone gets introuble for this, its me (i dont see why i would, I am just trying to verify an observation)

Hey, I will get in trouble with you! :-D

There is definately preferential treatment given and some things are completely overlooked by some. That is one of the main reasons I gave up my slot as mod.

I just going to come out at say it:

Yes some people, even certain moderators, “get preferred treatment.†At this point all I can do is pray that some changes take place, however; I promise to start speaking up about it in the Moderators forum (which of course only Moderators can see).

haha cool.

I thought I was the only one, But if a former mod, and a current mod see it.. I must not be.

I am not saying ALL mods favor this group, there are ofcourse some that are excellent mods, and enforce the rules regardless if your atheist, christian, muslim, or they just agree with you or not.

well i just joined yesterday...so i dont really know if such things are happening, but if it is then thats so unfair. Arent we all entitled to free speech?

Free speech yes but to a point.
This is a private forum where other rules apply other than those enjoyed in your living room or on the streets in downtown NYC. People must register to post and agree to the rules and regs therein. If those rules are unacceptable then there's the choice not to register.
Free speech yes within the confines set forth by said rules and regs.

Welcome the forums rover. :smt023
As with any forum, this one not excluded, one must sift through the posts. It's much like harvesting both the wheat and the tares. In any crop weeds will grow. The wheat is separated from the chaff on the threshing floor. It's up to you though to test all things with scripture and draw your own conclusions.

I can't say it any plainer than that.

Well that type of behavior has been going on for thousands of years, and it is not going away. And Christians are not excluded. You can see it in the church, or the work place or in the Bible. It's all over the place. And it is natural for all people to be closer with each other, than they are others. But they are not to mistreat the others. But it will go on until Jesus returns. And you can take that to the bank.

You are absolutely right. And I think we know that there are a couple mods who have those who are their "pets" and will allow them to sling whatever mud they want. Of course they really cant say much about that mud since they themselves wallow in it too. The vast majority of the mods though are great, fair people. My problem was in being on a team with a couple who could not contain themselves and were insulting and belittling toward those who they did not agree with. I could not come to terms with seeing people demeaned and then being part of, even if only in the eyes of those being demeaned, that group who is inflicting the abuse.

(That and there was a push to assure that all Mods believe in the faith statement and there are a couple of points that I do not agree with. Have to let your yes's be yes and your no's be no. Ya know?)

NPX, I think that is great and have always known you to be above the mire that some get in. I am glad you are a mod here.

8-) :) :) :o :D :-D :P  :-?  ;-) :bday:
Why cant we all just get along! LOL Maybe we can finally let the nuts run this asylum. And get some Peace! Amen Jezeriah 5:14

Actually, we had a rather large squirrel population in the moderating staff at one point. We ate wll the nuts.

Yes some users get preferenctial treatment. It's a Christian message board, which means the rules are going to favor the Christians. 8-) However, some mods are not as accepting ofd differing opinions as some others. Plus, some of the mods hold grudges.

If I'm coming off as one of the unfair Mods, Please PM me and let me know.

no tim, you are doing an excellent job.

I am more talking about the mods that will punish an atheist, or pro-choice, or "liberal" for saying something partially personall towards someone, yet 2-3 posts later, a pro-life, conservative, Christian, can say the same, if not worse, and it is overlooked entirely.

I understand if I say something that is blasphemous, that It is breaking the TOS and I should get in trouble. Sure. I try not to say anything that is insultive. But you can;t please anyone..

Peace, I think that it is not offensive to bring up things like this at all. Honesty keeps us accountable. Sin exists in all of us, and I do not see any mods, or members, as perfect here. I think everyone has favorites, and perhaps it makes for a less objective situation, but there is no perfect situation. I am sure we can all admit to that. I am a mod here because I Love God, and others, and felt like it would be nice to post about God on a protected board. I was on a widow board that constantly hounded me because I was a believer...and the board owner is an agnostic. Not only did he not stop the hate towards me, but I think by his indifference he actually encouraged it. That same behavior towards someone of another religion, race, or sexual preferrence was stopped immediately.

I think when discussions boil down to a mud slinging match, then ALL should be reminded of the rules of this board, but more importantly of Christ's example. Now, I am sorry if you feel that I am unfair, or that I favor some. I honestly try not to, but I am among the more conservative here, and I know that many see me as a horrific person, and perhaps a terrible Christian, based on my more fundamental/ traditional beliefs in God's Word. I choose not to be on a side, but Gods...and I do not apologize for that. I really just want to please the Lord above all.

When I see anyone fussing in the forum that I am responsible for, I do my best to remind everyone. I think we should love everyone. However, it is God who changes the hearts and minds of men, and knowing that I pray for this board, it's members, and it's mods.

I know you have been here a long time, and frankly I like you. I also liked Quath, and many others, including Christians, that I nearly always disagree with. I hope it is not offensive, but I pray for you, and your family, on a regular basis. However, when God is spoken of in a disrespectful manner, I will, and do, say something. That tends to be more to unbelievers, but it is not favoritism, it is just the nature of things. I think Tim was giving this example to you. Anyway, I think it is a good thing to speak of.

I would also like to point out that I do not think the mods are the only ones who may be guilty of this. I see many people on the attack here on a personal level with one another based on the fact that they do not like them, or their beliefs. Though I think the mods should try to be above reproach, I think all of us here could read this thread and know that it is based on the sin that exists in all of us. The Lord bless you today.

@ lovely!!

Excellent post :smt023

Lovely, I have never had a problem with you being an unfair moderator. From what I have witnessed, it doesn't matter what side someoen is on, if they break the TOS then they get a warning for it. and I really like that.

There are many christians here that I like alot, EVEN THOUGH they may have totally diffrent viewpoints than me. They are respecting upon my opinions and my faith, and I like that.

People that respect others, regardless of their diffrences, are the people I enjoy, the people I wish ruled over america..

And I am glad I am not getting in trouble here. Its pretty cool actually, I was afraid Id get banned or warned again for "bringing moderator actions up in public" or something.

I have been around here for close to 3 years already.

I have never noticed it.

I have always found the moderators to be fair.

You have to remember, that if someone is of the christian faith... it's hard to defend another religion. Sometimes you need to separate the person from the religion, but cut them some slack... an example would be:

Christian Guy: Jesus rules!

Jewish Guy: He was cool, but he wasn't the messiah.

Christian Guy: You ignorant fool, of course he was.

Jewish Guy: *Random insult back*

If you're a mod, and you completely agree with the christian guy, it'll be hard to reprimand him even though he resorted to name calling. I've noticed this too, but I'm pretty sure it's not intentional.

ya, I have noticed a few spots, where it doesn;t seem intentional, I can understand.

What I am talking about is the few members that CONSTANTLY get away with it. I have seen alot of the harder debaters here get warnings, regardless of which side they are for. Except for a few. Some can be rude, cruel, and downright mean, and get away with it, Every time.e

Yeah, you make a valid point. My advice would be to bring it up right there and then, not angrily... but if it bothers you, say something. Draw attention to the actual incident.

I agree...At least it certainly appears that way. There appears to be a bullying section among us. However... I am not complaining, I can live with it.
