If you're not going even read the articles, why do you even ask? Children under 5 years of age are being sexually abused by family members and your response is "They are human"

I'm human and that thought never ever occurred to me.

so do you really think that any church or group is so HOLY that they are above reproach? that they shouldn't be checked in on and answer to the government within reason? what does romans 13 teach? be subject to the laws.
 
I don't recall if the jw's have that problem. I know they have their issues but they don't do that. I was one. they are isolated from the world
1) I didn't watch some tv shows. bewitched was one of them. I was warned not to any such shows with the occult or magic
2) sports. don't participate. play for fun but not to compete
3) don't vote, don't got to college
4) secular music? its a sin

Are they all perfect?Are all of us perfect?How often does that happen in the Christian community of us who are not Amish?
 
I know that some of you are looking down on those of the Amish community.Look at Scripture and tell me if we are suppose to do that.Show me one verse that says we are suppose to look down our noses to others.

That is something I agree with for sure. Sexual abuse happens in every community and even in our Christian ones. So I don't see how we can judge them by that. I don't know what the Amish believe as far as doctrine? Do their basic beliefs about Christianity line up with Protestants?

Some of them from the old order are very legalistic.They do not believe in having their pictures taken or hanging any pictures on the wall because of the graven image verse in the Bible.They do not believe in having buttons or zipper on their clothes.They of course do not believe in electricity or having cars.If our world went belly up because all of the electricity went out they would be about the only community that would survive.

so kathi because you don't attend my church. you are damned to hell.

that is what the amish belief. I looked it up. Wikipedia and other places said that. the link gary posted said that as well.

Jehovah's witness are legalistic too. yet you say they are a cult. they say the same about us. cept they don't believe in hell. I assure if I know a devout jw. he doesn't listen to secular music, curse. etc. he is modest and so are the women. outward appearance aren't what gets us right with god. its what we do with what has been truly revealed by god to us. ie the bible.

the perversion by the amish is they alone are the way, they also don't witness. HELO!!!!!! they don't witness. have you ever known of the group of people called hyper Calvinists? well the amish are cousins of that. Anabaptists are that way. I have a local kin of that here. its a dying church. it doesn't grow, its just families of the original faithful that started that church.
