Anyone like what he is doings? I just read "Deep and Wide" and have several of his CD and DVD's.

I have become a student of his somewhat. I appreciate the way he is able to keep the message deep yet extend it to a wider group of people.

Don't know him.
I'll have to check him out.

"your move" is the name of his TV program.

I think you will really like him. His father is Charles Stanely pastor of 1st Baptist Atlanta. Charles is your typical Southern Baptist preacher. Andy is the other end of the spectrum.

Can I post the link so you and others can hear him or is that against the rules?

I found this on his site. Andy's church is called North Point. This is from his book deep and wide discussing the beginning of his church. Looking at how lost people wanted to be around Jesus he wanted a Chruch that lost people would desire to attend.

We had no idea what we were doing, but…we knew what we didn’t want to do. We
didn’t want to re-create environments designed for church people. We wanted to
create a church that unchurched people would love to attend…We opened Easter
Sunday 1992 with about seven hundred people, most of whom were from the downtown
church. Once they realized that “warehouse worship” was going to be a total
departure from what they were accustomed to, about half of them elected not to
come back. But they were quickly replaced by people from the community. A lot of
people. By the third week, we were turning people away…We added a second service
and began developing overflow space. By the end of the second month, we were
closing in on two thousand adults in worship. It was crazy.

I jumped over and read the mission statement I see no problem with posting the link..... You have the required 20 postings :) Thank you for asking !

Mission accomplished. I went once, never went back.

Now, before you read too much into that, let me say I do like the Pastor he has at the local campus here in Cumming, GA. This young guy is VERY knowledgeable on the Bible, and has a heart for the lost. (Ok, I don't know his heart, maybe he just like the pay and opportunity to speak to 3500 people each Sunday.)

And Andy's CD titled "The Star, the Cross and the Crescent" is an excellant exposition on Christianity, Islam and Judaism.

But I will never go back to that church. Is it VERY secular in some ways. Not sure I want to say any more. So I won't.

I kept myself in control THAT time, didn't I?

LOL,

That's ok if you did not like his church enviroment there are many I don't like too. In Deep and Wide he says they are "married to the message not the method".

And Andy's CD titled "The Star, the Cross and the Crescent" is an excellant exposition on Christianity, Islam and Judaism

Thanks I'll order it.

Thanks I'll order it.

Given 9-11 and the current mess with Islam, I got a lot out of it.
He impressed me. He provided answers to some questions like, "If the hijackers on 9-11 were good Muslims, why were they seen in strip bars the days before the attack?" His answer makes perfect sense.

WOW! Thank's Ezra.

That is one powerful message!

Did you notice the way he told the congregation to yell out "You Hypocrite" and talked about those visitors who believe Christians are hypocrites well here is there chance to look around and yell it out? That's one of his "methods" I appreciate. He never ties to hide or coverup the truths we all know.

Remember when he talked about race problems in the church. When I was young we had Vacation Bible School with about 100 children. Our pastor told us in the opening assembly that if any blacks showed up we would "quietly dismiss" to our homes.

Man thanks for posting that link. I think I am going to order that group of CD's as well.

One more thing. I am trying to live out a bible lesson with my children's class. I have been asking them to make some class rules for several weeks now. Every week they find loopholes and ways around not following the rules or doing some bad stuff so we make more rules. This lesson goes perfectly with my goal. My goal is to have a list so long they cannot remember what they are to do and not do. THEN we have the lesson the most important commands. This goes along with that perfectly!

Thanks again.

I enjoy his father Dr. Charles Stanley teachings along with Dr. Crefol Dollar for daily bible study.

andy is different charles stanley is southern baptist--andy is non denom he has a series of 8 messages on being a christian

http://www.northpoint.org//messages/christian/part-5# this will take you directly to # 5 at the bottom left you will see boxes with numbers there you can watch full series

Yes North Point is non-demoninational. IMHO that was a wise move for a person who is seeking to be an type of American Missionary.

I like this message too. I like when he talks about Jesus telling people the truth about their sin and his sacrificial love he gave for them. I take from that sermon if I am not willing to love someone in a sacrificial way who am I to tell them about "their sin"? (get that log out of my eye)

I also agree when he said the Church is operating at it's best when it refuses to let go of Grace or Truth.
