I started this thread in order to share a testimony I heard this morning and witnessed clearly as to one way God uses His messangers, angels, in our lives. I tend to think that most of the time we are not aware that anything supernatural has occured.

The man who told the story is a professor at a Christian college. He graduated many years ago from the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and holds a doctorate in theology. He was also the dean of a Christian college for 25 years and is still quite activate in the mission field. So he is not young and impressionable not uneducated in the Scriptures. I point out these facts just to say that I at least consider him to be reputable and to possess a Godly Christian integrity.

I welcome others to share any stories regarding the ministry of angels, that you believe to be true.

So, are you using "Angel" as a metaphor for this man, or do you think he is actually an Angel?

The story is this.

Years ago a missionary, who was also a medical doctor, went alone on a mission to Africa. He pitched his tent in a wooded area between the town and his mission field. He would go to town for persoanl supplies and medical supplies that he used in the mission field. While in town he was noticed by three young men, they saw that he always had cash for his supplies. They devised a plan to rob him at his camp site.
One day as he was walking down the road, he saw these three men. Two of them were engaged in beating the third. When he walked up and stopped the two ran away. He took the third with him and gave him medical treatment. Apparently the young man felt guilty and confessed that they had attempted to rob him of his funds. However, when they approached his camp they saw there were many big, muscled guards all around the camp. Apparently they were so surprised and wondered as to who this fellow might be that they actually counted the guards, for the young man said in his confession that there were twenty-six guards.
When the doctor returned to his church in Michigan one of his fellow church members told him something that had occured while he was away. This brother said that he had been in prayer and that the Lord had impressed on him to pray diligently for the doctor. He said the impression was so strong that he called other prayer warriors in the church to meet with him to pray. Twenty-six showed up.

Oh and .....when he was approached by his brother in Christ the brother first asked him if he kept a journal, which he did, and they looked up that day, then he told him about the prayer meeting for him.

The conviction to pray for a need at a distance, without knowing why, is something that Christians do indeed experience.

We don't understand a lot about the working of angels (the Lord has been pleased not to reveal a great deal) but the framework of Hebrews 1, where they are described as 'ministering spirits, sent to minister to them that shall be heirs of salvation' is very useful.
