That's not a bad little book. I loved it. I'd throw my name in the drawing, but I already own master peice.

Yup, that's an excellent book!
C.S. Lewis comments on how difficult it was for him to write... It really took a lot out of him.

Whoever wins this book will really get a lot out of it :clap

I'd like to put my name in too!!! I don't have that one.

Thanks so much for doing this John!

No problem. List is amended :yes

I do not like CS Lewis, and don't know the reason except that his writings are more into the mastic field. You can sign me up to, and thanks. Most Christians are fooled by this man not me. I'll elaborate on this a little, anybody who wants to show the light should be plain and clear what he is saying, or telling us. CS Lewis wrote as one who would write Cabala. You can't drink from the cup of the Lord and the cup of Satan. :D : When I see all his supporters like Chuck Colston, Rick Warren, and Joel Osteen support CS Luis. than I start to worried about this mans character. :eyebrow :help

If you're going to insult a good man, at least have the decency to spell his name correctly.

LOL :rolling

Gabriel sorry I did not do that purposely, and about him being a good man the bible tells us there is none good not even one. I grant to you that I do not know much about this man and I can be wrong but I just do not understand why the movie had no mention of Jesus or Yahweh. Maybe it is just the movie I never read his book on this story, that is why I have asked for help; so help me here;-- is the book as the movie no mention of Christ.? blessings to you and your love ones. Anna :)

I am well aware of what the Bible says, but can any Christian on this forum, honestly tell me that they have never called their child (or even their pet) a "good boy" or "good girl"? I have had the same thing said to me in another thread by a Christian who seems to thinks that Martin Luther King, Mother Taresa and Mohatma Ghandi lacked virtue, and i find it very patronizing. What was meant is obvious; C.S. Lewis was not a bad man, the opposite of the word "bad" unfortunately is "good". If you do not find this word agreeable, then replace it with something that is.

As for the book, i have not read it, which is why i have entered this raffle. Thanks again, John.

Hi Anna,

Have you ever read any of the books by C.S. Lewis?
Have you ever read any portions of the Cabala?

I'm just curious because I've read several books by Lewis, and have read portions of the Cabala and I don't see the link... :confused

Also, just because you disagree with Warren, Colston and Osteen and they happen to use material from C.S. Lewis, doesn't really link up either in my mind... It would be like me saying that I don't like the bible because Warren, Colston and Osteen quote passages, or render ideas from the Bible.

I know people who are adamantly opposed to Warren, Colston and Osteen and absolutly believe that C.S. Lewis is spot on.

As far as the Screwtape letters, I believe he is getting inside the head of demons as the elder writes letters of direction to the younger... I think your right about Jesus not being directly mentioned, but the natural laws of cause and effect, action and reaction are in full effect. In all, you can see Christ in the story as their devious plans become foiled time and time again and the wonderful plan of salvation is played out.

Peace :nod
