I know this is supposed to be a point about evolution, but I wouldn't mind trying to derail just one thread from the totally pointless debate of evolution vs. creation.
A big thing physicians need to do is STOP inappropriately prescribing antibiotics. A big thing the public needs to do is a) listen to physicians when they tell you that antibiotics won't help, and b) make sure to finish the prescribed course of medication, even if you already feel better and don't like some of the side-effects. I'm a med student, and it's amazing how many people will bully for antibiotics even if they have what is clearly (or most likely) a viral infection. People WANT drugs when they go in to see a doctor. Also, the rate of compliance in antibiotics is really low... so listen to your doc people!
