Letter from Antony Flew (ex-atheist) on Darwinism and Theology

Professor Antony Flew, who is famous for his philosophical arguments in favour of atheism, has contributed these tantalising comments to the debate.....

This must be a real blow for atheists when their "leading atheist of the 20th century" rejects Darwin in the 21st century and considers "God"...

Good thing Mr. Flew knows enough about evolution to assert that it has nothing to do with abiogenesis....oh wait...that's exactly the opposite of what he said.

In fact, Flew endorses Darwinian evolution, and even points out that Darwin was a theist who seems to have suggested that God miraculously created the first living things.

Supposedly, Flew considers himself a deist; deists are more favorable to ID than to scientific theories of evolution, since ID is consistent with a God who created, and then walked away.

It's not a real blow to atheists as Flew is not a scientist. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but not their own facts. Flew is not qualified to render a scientific opinion and did not. Evolution does not stand or fall based on opinion it stands or falls based on the evidence which is overwhelming when compared to the alternative. :microwave:

Yeah...I don't see why you guys are making such a big deal out of this. It wasn't a big deal. I, personally, had no clue who the guy was.

That's pretty funny....leading atheist?

LOL... you atheists are really funny. It is not us (Christians) who called Flew a "leading atheist" .... it was YOU, the atheists, who called him that!!!

See what Richard Carrier -atheist- (do you even know who he is?) says about Antony Frew...
Richard Carrier said:
Flew is one of the most renowned atheists of the 20th century, even making the shortlist of "Contemporary Atheists" at About.com. So if he has changed his mind to any degree, whatever you may think of his reasons, the event itself is certainly newsworthy.

Now that is from one of the most prominent atheist web sites on the internet and written by the editor!

Do you guys read at all?

:bday: :bday: :bday: :bday:

Yea, although it's good that Atheists are banding together, I don't really see the point except as a political agenda.

Obviously, all Atheists are not dependant upon a "spiritual" leader to guide them. Just goes to show how superior we are.
