[_ Old Earth _] Any publications on memetics?

-Well as a pre-thread disclaimer, I will first point out that this is not actually aimed at religion or creationism at all, but I figured some people here might know about any such works.

I am writing a piece of extended fiction as something of a private project, one of the focuses of which is the competition of societies and ideological worldviews as memetic entities.

I wouldn't mind looking for some good publications on memetics and ideologies as they pertain to sociology. Does anyone know any such things that might be of use (in book form or on the internet; whichever.)
