There are no trains where i currently live but every time i go to a place with trains i spend hours watching them, taking pictures, tracking them and yes riding them :D
I have been across the country twice by train.
When i lived in Jasper Alberta i used to jump on a freight train and ride it a fews kilometers out till it started to get to fast, jump off and then hike back. One time i laid under a tanker car and it rolled over top of me, it was surreal, lol'
(I realize that the above is foolish and i do not suggest anyone do it but hey we only live once right? ;) )
