Anyone else wanna have a fun discussion?

Whatever happened to having fun and enjoyable discussion in General. Now all we have are Apologetical arguments and the same debates and competitions repeatedly posted in the same forms. Is this really all we have to talk about?

As an old sales rep..

..lemme help ya with the posiitive ideas that this kinda thread needs to succeed, OK? :-D

I was planning to ask what plans folk have for this half term break :D

With wintry weather so far forecast to go on for days, my sales training in turning obstacles into opportunities & stumbling blocks into stepping stones really kicks in here, yes?

In fact, let's grasp da nettle of da long-range forecast of da coldest winter in @ 10 yrs, OK? :fadein:

Being in a 'Net pub in Sunny Sleepy Southport, I just this minute told mein host that, with UK media whipping up fears of Birmingham weekend riots spreading UK-wide, this seaside resort's quiet, sedate, civilised, polite image needs marketting as a positive draw to city folk as a safe haven, a means of peaceful escape from da daily round

(See http://www.VisitSouthport.com & http://www.Liverpool08.com & http://www.merseyworld.com to see how far UK marketting may have to go to catch up with you suoerbly in-ya-face USA folk, huh?)

Same obviously applies to cyber-space in general - but especially to the Christian peace/love/joy/wisdom/guidance we can offer our networks of friends!! 8-)

I'll tell ya da 1st precinct promo I used for this fine site - round the superb acoustics of Liverpool's famous St John's Precinct @ 4.15/4.30pm on Fri, as the newly freed students flocked to that trendy mall...

"R U fishing 4 da best Cheristmas bargains?

"Eternal life - thru Christ - is absolutely FREE!!

"Seek wisdom - seek understanding, 4 they will crown your life with honour", says Bible Proverbs

"So enjoy fishing @ http://www.ChristianForums.net

It just keeps on getting better...

http://www.ChristianForums.net !!!!"
:P

My salesman's hunch is that we could well out-perform the similarly-named site that claims to be the biggest, but has SOOOOOOOOO many technical hitches & regular shut-downs as a result :o

I did similar motivational messages throughout my 18 months there

The results?

When I joined, we were @ 23,700 members

We doubled in less than 6 months

Tripled in less than 8 months

Quadrupled in @ 10 months & quintupled in less than 15 months

Why can we do even better??? :-?

Chiefly because we're more evangelical - (Bible-believing) - in mission statement & more friendly in ethos & practice :-D

So...

what mottos would YOU suggest we network to our networks? :bday:

Why not copy this post to 'em & ask their opinions of this rockin' site?

Pop in links to, say, entertainment/movie etc forums & your fave threads, yes?

Being a Scouse wit, I'd sure recommend recruiting ya pals into da Design Revolution, to break the global stranglehold of the Evo-Loopy-Poop Empire - & turn as many as possible Anekins away from Vadering on the Darth dark side - (see many funny Creation?Evolution posts this past week or so!)

Revenge of the Sixth Form starts here - onto the goal of academic freedom from the totalitarian Thought Police - ably aided by Beast etc threads in Signs of the Times etc threads/forum, yes?

God bless!

Ian :D

Ian, I'm not quite sure I got all that, but I'm glad you're enjoying yourself and praising God while you're at it!

Fun discussions...yes that would be a relief. What's your fun discussion idea, Timothy, or did you just wish to discuss whether microwave popcorn or stove-top popcorn is better?

Timothy,
I would love to have fun and enjoyable discussions but I'm not one for things like the "Question Game" or "Word Associaton...". I believe things like this are fun but they are not for me.
I would also love to have discussions that glorify God and edify others.

Do you have any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

I don't mean question games. This board has become a ego testing ground. Any topic started become fuel for fights. We do have a bottom half of the board to discuss Book, Sports, Health, Music, just about any topic, but no one wants to take time away from the debates. :-?

For those heading to other, similar picnic areas, my tip to optimise the acoustics is to point speakers up at the centre of da table..

Well, I don't know about you Tim? But I'm open for anything ;) What would ya like to talk about? IM or PM and I'll chat with ya!

If I haven't made it clear already, the topic doesn't mean much to me. I just think a thread or two that doesn't become a slugging fest would be a nice change. 8-)
