Are Christianity and Freemasonry compatible?

Hi,

My husband has been a Freemason for six years. I have always been sceptical and suspicious about it. I have read things online which are mainly negative. My husband says it’s simply little more than a men’s group where they just gather and socialise and most of the stuff published online is a load of rubbish. He says it’s harmless. However, I still feel suspicious about it. He has invited me to ‘ladies nights’ which I have not felt compelled to go to and I’ve refused.

Perhaps I’m being unfair and I should go along? He seems to really want me to come along. My husband and I do go to church and we’re both Christians. I guess what I’m wondering is how compatible it is with Christianity. Can anyone give me some insight on this please? Thank you 😊

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to defend the Freemasons but how do you know these things? Are you a former member that was in one of those "higher levels?"

Just trying to get more clarity for the OP.
I cannot answer for him but some of their written material has been leaked although members swore to return all such to the lodge when dying. The details of their secret handshakes and rituals have been leaked. It’s actually not difficult to look into the Free Masons.

Not much of a secret then, I suppose. When you say leaked was it validated and if so, how, since it is a secret? Not trying to be sarcastic. Just trying to understand and have some level of truth rather than conjecture for Welshlady38's sake.

Well You admitted you don’t know much about them so it appears to indeed be a secret. Many don’t know much. There are many things that some know.

I’m also not trying to be sarcastic but because a few know some information doesn’t mean it’s not a secret. The Welsh Lady’s husband thinks it a men’s club. It’s a secret from him.

We're beginning to stray so I think we should get back to answering Welshlady38's questions.
Yes and we’ve pretty much answered it, those of us who know the secrets. They are from diametrically opposite kingdoms and in no way compatible but her husband isn’t aware of its secrets and so she must proceed cautiously. There are moments to tell all and times to wait. Even Jesus said he had much more truth to tell his disciples but they weren’t ready at that time.

Since this is a no-discussion folder, I should not be answering this. But since the info is important and you are one of the mods, I will answer.

No - I have never been in the Masons or any of their adjunct groups like the Scottish Rite folks. I have known a few Masons (some relatives) and asked questions. I also read books by a couple of former Masons and sat thru a very interesting and powerful presentation some 20 years ago by Barry Segal** on Freemasonry.

it is indeed very dangerous to get uneven as they hold great power due to their widespread affiliations in society- especially the rich folks are recruited into their dynasty as the lower levels put all their money towards the top ranks, it takes at least 14 years to reach 32nd level so hes likely past level 10
they will start breaking down all their lies in society at the higher levels

i have heard of people who lost all their property, house they built themselves, their horses, everything was sold off through corrupt courts that they naturally owned
because of that i avoid entirely mentioning this faction or at least obfuscate it in speech to avoid the word filters of the internet
they are very dangerous once opposed, especially if youre deemed as having some power, so thread carefully. you may wanna ask him questions such as - what would he be willing to do? would he be willing to partake in destroying society and the world? maybe embed these thoughts into his mind so he can start come up with his own questions

it appears that its possible to leave freemasonry even on good standing, so it seems that its infact easier to leave freemasonry than your typical local gang, strange.

Here is a link , and I will talk about what I found there . It is not anti-masonic .

From the link .

Becoming a Freemason is a process of initiation and while many believe that you must be born to a Freemason to become a Freemason this is simply not true. Freemasonry is not a cult; it is simply a fraternity of individuals who share a common bond. In order to be considered for Freemasonry in a UGLE lodge, there are five conditions that must stand:

  1. One must believe in some type of Supreme Being.
  2. One must be of legal age.
  3. One must be a man who was born free, has a good reputation and comes well recommended to the lodge.
  4. One must be able to support themselves and their family.
  5. One must choose Freemasonry of their own free will and not be coerced in to it by others.
Notice it said "some type" , Budda , Krishna , Satan , etc . Would I want to be doing rituals , prayers or worship with other men serving a deity that is not the Lord God Almighty ? NO !
2Cor.6
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
