Just last time, I was with someone who spent all his time criticizing parents and saying they are to blame for whatever bad their children do.

The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. Ezekiel 18:20b NIV

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 KJV

He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) 1 Timothy 3:4-5 NIV

you cant make a child serve god. you can teach them, but teaching them doesn't mean they will listen nor be saved. anyone who has taught kids, had kids. knows that. if God couldn't keep adam and eve(his kids) from sinning then what makes you think you will?

we are born with much of who what we are.... cant blame parents for our genetics that was/is Gods doing . My parents were fair to us kids same parents 5 kids we are different in many ways.. ... I was a stinker... my older sister never lied even about breaking something... each of the younger boys is different... Christian parents are not perfect they are human....mine never gave up... Mom will be 92 in about 6 weeks, she still prays for us kids... grandkids ..great-grandkids and great-great grand kid.
To you Fathers

Lam_2:19 Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.

(If someone does not know how to lead the family, how can that person take care of God’s church?) 1 Timothy 3:5 NCV

The ability to lead one's family varies by individual. The Bible says that only those who can manage their households well should be promoted to overseer of the church. Some people are good at it, and some could use mentoring to help them.

Then they can teach the young women...Titus 2:4a NCV

The Bible tells older women to teach younger women how to do things properly. Churches can have older, established couples who raised their children well teach younger couples who are struggling with this issue. Some people really are good at training children up to obey the Lord, and other can use mentoring by spiritually mature believers to help them figure things out.

Some people were raised by believers, and so had plenty of first hand examples of what to do. Some new converts were raised by unbelievers, and may not know what to do. They could use mentoring by mature believing couples.

Bless your mom...she is going to live forever...

Thanks for all your great inputs. Jason, thanks a lot. I actual mentioned the attitude of the devil towards God when he was in heaven to this fellow. I asked him would he blame God for nonchalance? he didnt answer. he seems to have made up his mind to blame his parents. I know little 'bout his problem, thus the reason for his cavalier generalization
