wow u fast
Exactly so its not a curse. A curse comes from supernatural powers so its got nothing to do with God. Yes God controls the natural laws but he gave us free will.
Dont think we do agree, Maybe its just the way you worded the heading. No one has said that God perpetuates sin in anyone. Seems like you are in agreement, here, describing exactly what a generational curse is: the passing of a sinful attitude or behaviour from one generation to the next through families.
wow you the fastest typer in the west. So who gave the curse to the different generations. I'm lost.:D
It is a sin and can at other times be a curse that others curse us with. I'm sure you've heard plenty of stories of people going out and cursing entire households which then in turn gets passed through the generations (ever see Holes, lol. Not the best example but an example no less). It's no trouble for the one who is hidden within the Lord though

The main verse used to support generational curses is Exodus 20:5 "You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me"
The term "generational curse" is never used in the Bible, and this verse cannot support the modern notion of generational curses.
First, the curse here IS from God - it is a punishment for sin - and the punishment only carries on to the children IF the children continue to hate God and continue in the sin.
God doesn't punish our children by causing them to want to sin in the same sins.
When we are in Christ, the curse - or the punishment for sin - is removed. He doesn't treat us as our sins deserve. Moreover, we are given the blessings promised to Abraham that God will bless us and curse those who curse us. So, we are not subject to the curses from man or demon. God broke the curse and has blessed us with every spiritual blessing.
We don't have to worry about digging up the past and repenting for our ancestors sins. We might pass on bad behaviors to our children, but that is not a curse. A curse is a spiritual reality - and our spiritual reality is that we are as Christ is - blessed in every respect and protected from the curse. If we experience sinful tendencies it is just because we haven't learned to walk in the full blessings we have in the spirit.
