Psa 119:65 TETH. Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according unto thy word.
Psa 119:66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.

Without going to Matthew 7 and committing rape on God's Word by forcing verse one out of it's, not just biblical context but also from it's, local context and it begs an answer to both natural and spiritual men and women.

When I was saved the same thing happened in my life that every saved man, woman or/and child experienced... the indwelling of the Holy Spirit of God. In verse 66 of Psalm 119 we find the Psalmist praying for God, the Father to teach him Good Judgement, Good Discernment... both mean the same thing.

Today, with Jesus dispatching the Helper, the Holy Spirit, it is not required for a saint to ask God to receive the Holy Spirit. (John 14:15-17) No Jesus sends Him to those that seek God on the terms He demands. We will not be saved with a haughty, proud spirit for such a man will not submit to the leading authority of any master, let alone The Master that cannot beheld with the natural eye. And if one is unable to fully submit to our Holy Father (Job 22:21 & Heb. 12:9) they cannot possibly be saved.

But, the faith that saves is a gift from God. (Eph. 2:8) So some were created to go to Hell and a few to go to Heaven? God forbid! No, every word in the scriptures are protected by the Omnipotent Hand of God (Psalm 12:6-7 & Duet. 4:1&2) and such a Guardian will not be overcome. And in Matt. 22:14 we see that all, every man, woman and child are called and in 2Pet. 3:9 we find all of them are called to repent and to be saved but just as the parable of the wide gate and the narrow gate illustrates, most will refuse.

But what is the point I want to make here? Have you ever made a point, when witnessing, in person or on the World Wide Web, only to be attacked? And then when you go to their Proof Text, you discover the Word of God is being twisted, perverted, raped?

With Degree in Divinity being so easy to come by and so many, formerly, well founded Institutions of Learning, allowing Left Leaning Teachers to instruct, I fear there will not soon be any limit to Lettered False Teachers and these, tickling the ears of the Lost, I'm certain, there will be no limit to the number of people that will testify, "LORD, LORD, in your name we..." but Jesus will tell every one of them to vacate His presence because He never knew them!

Remember, winning an argument is never the point of any discussion about the scriptures and if such a conversation reaches an impasse, it is not ungodly to let the conversation be and to pray over that person. Remember, Matthew 7 teaches us to keep the logs out of our eyes and not to allow others to insert new logs as fast as we can rid ourselves of the old.

May God bless the study of His Word... AMEN!

Interesting thread title. I was once told by a pastor that I seemed "un-teachable" because I had a history of questioning different "teachers" in the church. I'll admit, that stung.

That would cause me to pray for that man's salvation in a continuous manner. I came into the faith, questioning God and I still question the scriptures, hoping to understand some new revelation God has imparted and questioning a teacher is so much better than the pew whales that attend services and Sunday School.

When I was in my 2nd year of Bible College, a new Psychology Professor was hired. He claimed to have a PhD. He seemed to be a little "off the wall" so to speak. At the end of the year, he was fired because he had made up his doctorate, as well as the College he attended.

You just don't know these days who's real and whose not. O well at our age and condition Bill, we'll be home soon, and these young folk can work things out.

Hey Killer Spade Bill Taylor. I love You bunches. I pray that you will have a better day than you had yesterday. My heart of Jesus' love goes out to you today. You have been a good Servant of your Master Jesus in teaching others, for years, truths from God's Word. Someday, you'll meet, in Glory, the folk that were convicted to change their lives because the Holy Spirit spoke thru you, to them about Jesus Christ.

I want to be there when Jesus passes out the crowns for teaching God's Truth and Light to those in darkness who were ignorant of a better life by being born again, or pressing for a more consecrated life in Christ Jesus. Bravo my wonderful Brother, Bravo.

The most important thing to teach (IMHO) is how to teach yourself.
Sure the Holy Spirit will guide us in truth but it isn't going to drag us kicking and screaming the whole way if we don't want the truth.

Things like inductive study methods and applications of science and art to scripture are basics not often taught. These things are the main reason why we have divisions and denominations.

That, being true of the College and Seminary Grads, some of us, like myself, had to do something to change their lives to survive and dropped out of school before graduating HS and went into the Military or to work and have only the Life Skills the Spirit has taught us, we are simple men and we are often not refined enough for the Grads to understand the simplicity of what God is active teaching us.

I have never, from my first experience with the Father, felt the need for me to save anyone, that is God's work. My work is to do what the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit direct me to do and that task has been, largely to study to know that I can answer questions from His point of view and to tell people the truth, that's all I have been called to do and without God empowering it empowering me, that is all I can do. I pray God empowers people like yourself, Chopper, and others to complete the harvest and I try to water what others have planted.

That's a good reply Buddy. After I got saved and entered Bible College, one of my freshman classes was Evangelism. Wow Bill, did that ever crank me up to witness to anyone who would let me speak to them. I can remember, in class, the Professor would ask if anyone was able to witness to anyone. Maybe one or two said that they did. I would then say, "I witnessed to 9 people, and led three to Jesus. That's when the Holy Spirit birthed an Evangelist in me. I realized that for some, someone sowed the seed of the Gospel, all I did was water it.

Sometimes I planted the Gospel seed, and someone else like you Bill would come along and water it. Those were exciting days for me. Even when I began my calling as a Pastor, from every pulpit (4 Churches) The Gospel was a constant emphasis. As a result of my calling, The powerful Holy Spirit was able, thru me, to convert perhaps 100 folk, maybe more.

Even though College wet my spiritual thirst to win souls to Christ Jesus, God Himself taught me what to do, and what to say, in relying on Him to convert so many folk to His Son Jesus, it was His school of evangelism, not the College that equipped me in bringing lost souls to believe and trust Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

All praise and glory to Yahovah our Elohim.

Be blessed my friend, and perhaps our Almighty Good will open a wedge of witness to the Gospel in the upcoming days.

In my earliest years in the faith, drawing others to Jesus amd studying my Bible was all I could think about. And when we had a man with a heaert for the Prison Ministry I joined in before the first trip to a unit. Together we managed to gather over four hundred professions of faith and I was so, extremely excited. Having matured in the faith and having grown up to become one, I understand today that in those years of ministry, at least one, likely more, were Saved and that is mY reward. Even if only one was saved I will see him or her when I enter the Pearly Gates and there is no greater reward than knowing you have helped one avoid eternity in Hell.

After Salvation, I believe that there is nothing more exciting than to watch someone who I personally led to Christ, work out with that one his/her new life in Christ Jesus. I just love answering their questions.
