asperger=thought ... autism substance missing special igredient =

If you're wondering what causes autism, it's mostly genetic which means you get it from your parents and their parents,etc. Even if your parents weren't autistic, they can still carry some of the genes that cause it.
Another way to explain it is, it's a problem in the frontal lobe of your brain. The frontal lobe affects lots of things about the way your body and mind operate.

What's the substance? I worked with older adults and kids on the spectrum. I also have adhd, which is related.
asperger ===if you want to go further .. i guess .... (asperger=wiring) (autism ---> substance)
adhd==== ad=wire ..........(hyperactivity) =substance...
for me its very hard. since i got both asperger and adhd so i cannot know what is what.
please do comment. i could be wrong but im trying to work it out.
THERE COULD BE MULTIPLE SOLUTIONS.

I have ADHD too. Are you wanting to know what causes these conditions? Or are you looking for a cure?

for adhd there is medecine.- for autism it seems not.
True. They haven't figured out how to help autism through meds yet. But that's okay. Lots of people have autism and still live very happy lives. They need other people to be understanding is all.

They know what causes ADHD: there's a chemical in the brain called dopamine. People with ADHD have low dopamine. Meds help to bring the dopamine levels up.

Autism seems more complicated than that.

My oldest granddaughter (in high school) has an autism spectrum condition similar to Asperger's. In studying the background, her mom recognized some of the same tendencies in myself. She gave me a book to read "Look Me in the Eye" by John Elder Robison. It is possible I am a mild case of Asperger's myself.

I also believe my maternal maternal great grandmother was a Savant (for math) which is another spectrum condition.

My boss thinks I may have high functioning autism. I don't think so. I think my social anxiety just appears similar to the observer.

Then I would suggest reading the book I mentioned: Look Me in the Eye by John Elder Robison. It is a fascinating read - even if you are NOT a fan of the rock group KISS. There is a lot of stuff there that may (or may not) seem familiar.
