Ok I am Muslim and i am hoping to achieve 2 things hopefully for me and you.
1. Clear a couple of misconceptions about Islam.

Truth since you are new to this board, I wonder if you know that we have a forum called...
Christianity and other Religions http://www.christianforums.net/viewforum.php?f=20
You will be in the right area, and probably find many to discuss this with you. You may also find some ongoing topics there to be of some interest.
I am not sure if I have any misconceptions about Islam, but I would be happy to join you in a discussion in the area I mentioned. If I do have some misconceptions, I would like to know it so that I am not misrepresenting Muslims. I have a very dear friend who is Muslim, and I would not like to misunderstand him. As far as seeing which religion, and I assume you mean Muslim or Christian, hangs on Truth...I warn you, I am already convinced that it is Christianity, and wouldn't be swayed otherwise by a debate...even if you have a really good argument...the reason is simply because of the Holy Spirit's witness dwelling within me, and God's amazing grace. I do not say that to be contentious, but simply to help you understand that I belong to Christ. As I said, please start another thread in the proper forum, and we can discuss these things.

Just want to say one thing pertaining to what you hope to achieve:
For your first one, all I can say is 'good luck'. I've done all I could in that department and it didn't make all that much of a difference...at least not to the people I was directing my conversation at. I like to think that anonymous readers have read my posts on this topic and at least accepted a different point of view...'cause that really didn't happen much whoever I was posting to. Maybe you'll be more convincing, who knows?
All I can say is, you're dealing with a very tough audience here.
Oh and as for your second item...that kind of a discussion would not be a very good thing to have on this forum. Here's a little something from the forum's Terms of Service:
1 - This is a Christian site, therefore, any attempt to put down Christianity and the basic tenets of our Faith will be considered a hostile act.
We consider Paul's writings to be part of the inspired Word of God. This is a Christian forum and any posting(s) that is intended to purpously distort Paul's writings will not be tolerated.
3 - No active promotion of other Faiths is allowed:
You will not post any messages; links, images or photos that promote a religion or belief other than Biblical and historical Christianity (atheism is considered a "belief" for the purposes of this rule). Discussing these doctrines are fine, as long as the beliefs are not actively promoted. This includes Universal Reconcilation and Univesal Salvation This is a Christian Forum as the name suggests.
That pretty much means that discussing one religion as truth over another can get you censored or banned. If you want to have that kind of a debate, I think you can do it via PM-ing a willing member or do it in a multi-religion type forum. When I was talking about Islam I only tried to clear misconceptions but I NEVER said it held more truth than Christianity. (And hope I never came off as sounding that way.) Remember, you are on a Christian forum and are speaking with devout Christians. It's never a good thing to tell them that they don't have the whole truth when you are on their turf.

Yeah, I didn't mention that Christianity and Other Religions forum, though I should have. I just thought I'd mention the TOS because I didn't want him starting off on the wrong foot or anything by promoting Islam over Christianity...I know that is not well-recieved around here.

I too would like to welcome you to the forum. Just like lovely, I have worked with Muslims, and I believe that I have a decent understanding of the religion.
If I may be so bold as to suggest - that I believe Islam is being misused by a very vocal and desctructive minority that has caused other to misunderstand Islam.
