"Those who trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion;
they will not be defeated but will endure forever.
Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds his people, both now and forever". (Psalm 125:1,2)
These two verses are extremely encouraging! If we trust in Jesus---truly believing and accepting Him and all He has done for us, then we are saved forever! We are as secure as Mount Zion. Think of that---God created Mount Zion. No one could ever undo what God has created. So, our salvation is just as secure as Mount Zion is!!
Then, think of the mountains surrounding Jerusalem. Could anyone destroy them? Who would even try? The Lord says that just as firm as those mountains stand, so is the assurance that He surrounds and protects His people--NOW AND FOREVER!!
I don't know about you---but these verses give me great joy! The assurance they give is astounding. We are forever secure, and God is continually watching us, and has His hand in all that we do, every day. He will lead us to Mount Zion where we will be His Children forever and ever! Hallelujah!!
