Backward Masking, Do you Believe It ?

Lewis

For years I Lewis has heard about Backward Masking or Backmasking music, playing Led Zepplin and many others music in reverse, and when done so, you are supposed to hear satanic stuff. I saw a TBN show years ago on this, Led Zepplin the Beatles just to name a couple that I can remember, were said to put secret satanic messages in there music on purpose, so what do you all think ? Below is a small article on this subject explaining what Backward Masking is.

Backmasking (also known as backward masking)[1] is a recording technique in which a sound or message is recorded backward onto a track that is meant to be played forward. Backmasking is a deliberate process, whereas a message found through phonetic reversal may be unintentional.

Backmasking was popularized by The Beatles, who used backward vocals and instrumentation on their 1966 album Revolver.[2] Artists have since used backmasking for artistic, comedic, and satiric effect, on both analog and digital recordings. The technique has also been used to censor words or phrases for "clean" releases of songs.

Backmasking has been a controversial topic in the United States since the 1980s, when allegations from Christian groups of its use for Satanic purposes were made against prominent rock musicians, leading to record-burning protests and proposed anti-backmasking legislation by state and federal governments. Whether backmasked messages exist is in debate, as is whether backmasking can be used subliminally to affect listeners.

Something else, that I found. This stuff has to be proven to me.

We've heard about "Stairway to Heaven": Play it backwards and you'll hear devilish sayings. Or so "they" said. Now, thanks to the miracles of Jeff Milner's backmasking, we've learned that it's true. But it doesn't stop with Led Zeppelin. Take a song as innocent as "Imagine" by John Lennon. Play the clip forward. John plaintively sings, "Imagine alllll the people." Then, reverse-play the excerpt. Lo and behold, he's actually saying "the people war against me"! Or how about the "Pokemon Rap"? Millions of children around the globe adore the rotund, golden fellow. How bad can he be? When played forward, the song chirps: "Gotta catch 'em all, gotta catch 'em all (yo)." But when exposed by reverse playing, the yellow beast is actually chanting: "I love satan, I love satan"! Jeff, without you we might have continued in total obliviousness. Rock on, buddy. http://picks.yahoo.com/picks/i/20060603.html

I think it has allot to do with the power of suggestion. I think its quite odd that in an entire song, a few seconds of it would have a hidden message, but the rest would be gibberish.

I remember seeing a video a few years ago where someone reversed the song Jesus Loves Me, they found the words Jihad and Praise Allah in it.

I think allot of it has to do with people wanting something to be there. One of my teachers in high school played a bunch of song clips to us backwards in homeroom once. He asked us what we heard, and most of us said it was gibberish. He then read to us what people thought it said, and then replayed the clips. We heard the messages then.

He told us that since we were trying to hear the messages, we convinced ourselves they where there.

And I believe that last sentence.

I think it's junk. It's like one guy pointed out to me with the Stairway to Heaven case. It's not the best song for Christians to listen to, as it has some new age stuff in it, but overall, the song is a very sweet and passionate song about choosing the right paths in life. In fact, one christian did a commentary on it, pointing out various christian themes than can be found. Like I said, not the best song for christians to listen to, but it is still a noble one.

As for the backwards mashing, I find it completely ridiculous. Why would a song contain positive messages forwards, and satanic messages backwards? None of it makes sense to me! I don't comprehend messages played backwards! If that was the case, I would record all my lectures in College, and just play them backwards to learn the material! In fact, wouldn't professors design their speeches so that extra information is presented backwards? Two lectures in one!! NOT!!! Records cost money, so why would studios do something so ridiculous such as writing all their songs to play backwards messages? Folks, if your truly a Christian, there is no room in your life for conspiracy theories. Those are of the world, which from what I heard, we are not apart of.

Now that I rambled off a bit, Backward Mashing I believe can be true, but it has to be VERY WELL DOCUMENTED!!!!

Yeah I don't believe in it. Nobody ever said anything about playing Black Sabbaths music backward, Sabbath would say good things about Christ, and then say something crazy, with nothing in reverse.

I recall hearing a radio interview years ago, back during the Bill Clinton and Bob Dole Presidential race. The guy (I don't recall his name), was some researcher that had experimented with backward speech, "reverse speech" I believe is what he called it. He said that our forward speech will reveal an unintentional subliminal in reverse when one's emotions are excited.

The guy played a bit of his young daughter who was saying something while going into another room. Couldn't grasp what the young child was saying in forward speech. But reversed, you could clearly hear the little girl say, "I go here now."

With a computer it's very easy to reverse someone's recorded speech, so I tried it, during the Clinton-Dole Presidential debates. At one point Clinton said something in the debate that stirred up Bob Dole. And when it was Dole's turn to speak, in a speech reversal Doyle said, "He's... a devil". The "He..." part was stretched out, and the "..a devil" part was very quick.

And if you are still out there, what program was used by your computer to decipher forward speech in reverse ? Because I want to try this myself.
