The series could be thought of as X times (X + X).
So if X = 1, the answer would be 1 x (1 + 1) = 1 x (2) = 2

1x2=2 ----> (where X = 1); 1 x (1 + 1) = 1 x (2) = 2
2x4=8 ----> (where X = 2); 2 x (2 + 2) = 2 x (4) = 8
3x6=18 ----> (where X = 3); 3 x (3 + 3) = 3 x (6) = 18
4x8=32 ----> (where X = 4); 4 x (4 + 4) = 2 x (8) = 32
5x10=50----> (where X = 5); 5 x (5 + 5) = 5 x (10) = 50

Then for X = 7 ??

7 x (7 + 7) = 7 x (14) = 98
