Be fruitful and multiply- a Biblical command

Be prepared to be offended. Don't let your ideas obstruct your ability to examine new ones.

No, it's not among the ten commandments- it precedes them. Long before Moses and his book of laws. Long before Abraham, the one God chose. It goes like this-- "Be fruitful and multiply"

First it was said of life in general- the life of things in the waters, and the birds of the air and then to man He says--

“Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

What does that mean? "Multiply" means to become much, or to increase repeatedly. To take some, and make those- many.

I was browsing the news this morning and came across this article about Elon Musk. He's often mocked or reported upon in a scornful or scoffing manner by those on the Left and Right. It's easy for most people to find something they don't like about the richest man in the world, but did you know that he is one of the few prevalent voices in the world who is openly advocating for more people? For more children to be born. He's concerned about the falling birthrates, global birth control, growing infertility problems and though he's been careful not to comment publicly- the plague called abortion.

Check out this Fox News story about the prolific Elon Musk and his careful obedience to God's command- Be fruitful and multiply.

snippet-- "Doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis. A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far," Musk wrote on Twitter.

I wonder if that is a unwritten doctrine in my church as we are the only protestant antiabortion church who goes to the clinics .two others do it but I'm not sure what church they are with .

You wonder if ‘what’ is an unwritten rule?

It’s a written rule. (See quote from Genesis 1)
See what Paul says.

Something about being single and serving the Lord.

Saves trouble .being married myself I can attest .some aren't called to marriage .yup I know a few .one who died that way and Is in heaven.

Do you think Paul’s advice over rides God’s instruction?

Seriously .some don't have it in them to be married and or father's .

I choose not to .my wife was 42.i was 28.but whether or not that was right ,it's too late now.been married 20 years .

Notice I said called.

It's a command to marry ?

Marriage isn't a sin but we'll in the here after I won't be married to my wife ,no point to it as it's said non given or taken .

I know some like my brother or elder who have over 5 kids .they are called to it and have the inclination

Could I as deployed military member on active duty in or in peace time be a faithful dad for them ?no.my dad had 4 .he wasn't perfect ,he was not around us as much as my mom .I know her better.imho at times why have kids if they never really know you ?

I just don't feel the call to be a dad.i do it when I'm near my step grandkids but it's forced .I love them ,yes but it's not a major inclination. Duty to be that because they are my wife's .not because I wanted kids and enjoy them.

Those who know me closely know that I'm not a parent and some say I'm not that type

I said nothing about any command to marry.

For years, -for millennia really, society would praise the large family. It was a sign of status, wealth, prestige and honor to father many children. Even more recent and more local history has elements of the big Catholic family, or the big Mormon family, or Evangelical- or whatever element in one's social circle that might encourage this or consider it to be a blessing and not a curse.

But there are some who really do look at child-rearing as a burdensome task, and children in general as a problem the world has to deal with, who would rather abort a baby than see it born. There are many people who think the world has too many people. This past week there was a story about the destruction of the Georgia Guidestones. First on the list of 'things to do' carved into stone (a mockery) was their "guidance" for humanity-

Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
Guide reproduction wisely – improving fitness and diversity.
Unite humanity with a living new language.
Rule passion – faith – tradition – and all things with tempered reason.
Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
Balance personal rights with social duties.
Prize truth – beauty – love – seeking harmony with the infinite.
Be not a cancer on the earth – Leave room for nature – Leave room for nature

It's a globalist agenda. And it seems that many or most of the world's "leaders" - the richest and most powerful and the loudest voices-- whether billionaires, political, media, medical, celebrity--- almost all of them are all aboard. The world over.

In fact-- Elon Musk is one of very few who would speak out about the very serious problem and threat to humanity that depopulation presents. This isn't to glorify the man. That one line item might be the only thing on the list above that he disagrees with for all I know.

But for this one stance I do applaud him for giving voice. He's at least an advocate if not an example.

I mean think about it---- one more woman and two more kids and he will be on pace with the likes of Jacob.

Israel.
