Be Still & Know i am God , contemplation, meditation. devotion.

Its said the art of contemplative prayer has been lost to the christian church, true spirituality , meditating, contemplating , devotion.

I was very inspired by a book called the Saffron robe, the story of Singh a Sing , who Jesus appeared to, just before he was going to throw himself under the 5.20 am train.

Singha Sing wandered the foothills of the Himalayas , he met mystics along the way, living in caves, one was over 100 years old, and also journeyed into Tibet, meeting the Dalha Lama.

In the forbidden city.

When he came to the West it was during the industrial revolution, he said when do these people ever find time to feed their spirit.

such was the pace and demands of life, even more so now.

Pslam 46 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble, there fore we will not fear,

Even though the Earth be removed , and though the mountains be carried into the mist of the sea,

Though its waters roar, and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling.

Verse 10 Be Still and Know that I AM God.

Pslam 131

Lord my heart is not Haughty, nor my eyes lofty,
neither do i concern my self with great matters,

nor with things to profound for me,

Surely i have calmed and quieted my soul,

like a weaned child with his mother,

Like a weaned child , is my soul with in me.

Isaiah 40.30

Even the youths shall faint and be weary,

and the young men shall utterly fall.

But those who wait on the Lord ,

shall renew their strength ,

They shall mount up with wings like Eagles.

They shall run and not grow weary.

They shall walk and not faint.

Be still and know I AM God.

My prayers are silent; meditation, quiet contemplation, and written prayers are a huge part of my faith. The most extroverted form of prayer I indulge in is a quiet spoken prayer. I don't care one bit for church because of the loud clamor; I don't like singing the songs and I really don't like the more "energetic" churches. I have nothing against those who love those things, whatever makes them feel closer to God is best; it simply isn't my way.

"Be still and know that I am God"; yes this is a great verse from Psalm 46. We have this verse displayed in our house, in fact.

It's healthy to wait in quietness and remember Who our God is and His greatness.
