Being "shunned" , turned away....

Is there a time limit on how long a person is to be shunned, turned away from the church and not be ministered to?

They should NEVER NOT be ministered to. Withheld fellowship? That's something different.

Mainstream Christian churches don't "shun" people. At least none that I've ever known of. That sounds more like an Amish thing. Sometimes people are kicked out of churches because of their sinful lifestyle or some other serious reason, but that's usually a permanent situation that only means they can't attend church there anymore (unless, I would imagine, the person repents and convinces the church he has truly repented). But "shunning" (as in what the Amish do) involves no one in the church being allowed to have any contact with the person in any way at any time. This just isn't done among normal mainstream Christians.
