Yes, this is a real headline: Bible College Fires Professor for Tweeting Against Homosexuality, Threatens to Report Him as a “Terrorist.”

I'm thinking that if the professor spent relatively as much time and effort fighting the sin homosexuality as Jesus did, he'd probably be a better Christian. Granted, Jesus had a short time, and He focused on the sins that bring down the most people, but maybe that's another way we should emulate our Savior, don't you think?

I hope this experience awakens that professor to the wickedness of the establishment he represents.
I hope he will use this to actually become a Christian.

Yes, that seems right.

Did what that man did bring about any change in people? Or was it simply a waste of a good man who foolishly did not choose the right time to stand up for what he believed? Jesus did not go around pointing out people’s sin unless it was necessary and we can be sure he was deeply aware of these sins nevertheless. There’s a time to keep silent and a time to stand and speak. I believe what he did was foolish.

Shouldn't be a shock to a Christian anyway. We certainly know that God has always educated His people through the congregation, not through some college. Especially now that we are in the last days Isa 2:2,3

While the professor's behavior doesn't seem very Christlike, I have no doubt that he is a Christian. He may not fit all the expectations of you or me as to what a Christian should be, but neither of us is pope, much less God. I think, as you seem to think, that he could be a better Christian. But then, so could I.

I'll not throwing more stones at this point.

His response to his "treatment" will reveal his tendencies.
Stay with the defiled or look elsewhere.
He may not fit all the expectations of you or me as to what a Christian should be,
Scripture paints that picture.
but neither of us is pope,
Thanks be to God !
much less God.
Were we not commanded to be as perfect as God? (Matt 5:48)
Yes.
I think, as you seem to think, that he could be a better Christian.
Sometimes an experience like his will compel him to find the truth that can make him free.
But then, so could I.
Time is running out, so don't tarry.

Me either, but to leave someone floundering in a false "church" is worse than stoning

The longest few minutes of your life. Can you even imagine being stoned to death? It's horrific.
What will the lake of fire be like? (Rhetorical question)
Which would be worse?

Depends. I feel pain while I inhabit this body. Can a spirit feel pain? The science isn't in yet.

Being a Christian, I don't see denominational differences as being significant impediments to salvation. Jesus makes it very clear how we will be saved. For example, in Matthew, He describes how He will separate the sheep and the goats. And it's not based on what church one attends.

If this doesn't match up with your expectations of Him, you might want to consider if your behavior fits His expectations. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead.

A better question may be...is your denomination made up of sheep or goats?

All denominations are made up of sheep and goats.

"But...but...but... I was a member of Brother DuPrea's Only Real Saved Church" is not going to change His mind. There will be saved members of all sorts of denominations. And unsaved members of all sorts of denomoinations. Denomination will not save you. Theology will not save you. Read Matthew 25 to find out what will save you.

Hanging out at leavened "churches" is not the "M. O." of the converted.

Jesus says what the M.O. of the converted is. And it's not "I belong to the right denomination."
