Bible Study 23 (Tongues of deceit)
God appeared unto James in the year 62AD with the seeds concerning his Gospel, a Gospel that came to light in this Book of James. For the first time we find that many of our different Bible scholars to different greatly on the time in which this book was prophesied or written by James, some say within the middle forties and others say within the early sixties. With this greatest references being within these two certain time moreover fits much more within a much later date, much more than within the early one so we will be glad to go with the 62AD.
For within the early date the Spiritual Gifts was then within their full force, with the later date we find that the Spiritual Gifts had already at this time begun to decrease very sharply. Then at this very time many had also begun to misuse these gifts of tongues, for here we find James speaking out very sharply only thirty-two years after the day of Pentecost, as we find in the year of 62AD in the Book of James. 3:2-“For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.â€Â
3:3-“Behold, we put bits in the horse’s mouth, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.â€Â
3:4-“Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce wind, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.â€Â
3:5-“Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a fire kindleth!â€Â
3:6-“And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue is among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.â€Â
3:7-“For every kind of beast, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:â€Â
3:8-“But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.â€Â
We have many that believe that if man do not speak in tongues then they are not saved, here we find James is telling us that the most evil thing about us that we cannot control is our tongue. In many of our churches of today we find ourselves making an idol, or image unto our use of tongues, which even back then at this time, they were already becoming corrupted. This was even then a tongue in which man could find no control, tongues that many times we find to become lose at both ends.
Here we find God through James criticizing our tongues very sharply, when many of us now hold tongues up with the highest and of the greatest of all honors – as now being very sacred. After only a few years after being named, as being a gift of the Holy Ghost, then being in the hands and corruption of man for only a few years. We find James and also even Paul many times named them as then becoming corrupted, and miss used within the hands of man – and their evil ways.
Now turning to many of our pastors we are willing to pay dearly for nothing but their own personal act, as long as they promise us great things coming from wealth and of high glory. With this being an act that is coming only from within themselves, which they are using to fulfill their own glory, coming only from and by the prince of darkness. This is a false spirit, which they are willing to use, that they might build upon this their own personal strive.
This is a spirit that honors nothing but their own splendor; they are now only building upon their own worldliness. By giving this promise of great wealth unto their many followers and flock, in which that they might also add on to their own worldly wealth. Then we are willing to say that this no longer matters, as long as their corruption in no way concerns us, which is as long as they are only done it within their own secrecy of their own home.
They will continua to build upon this corruption, as long as we are willing to turn our head and look the other way. We find many of our leaders of today prophesying these same lies, as back within the days of Jeremiah. They are saying that if we would only surrender our small saving, or our small income unto them. That they might use it within their own commandments, then we would see no famine, by yielding many folds of wealth.
Then we also find in the same Book of Jeremiah,12:10-“Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.â€Â
12:11-“They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.â€Â
12:12-“The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.
12:13-“They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.â€Â
12:14-“Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.â€Â
12:15-“And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.â€Â
12:16 -“And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shalthey be built in the midst of my people.â€Â
12:17-But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the LORD.â€Â
