Finally getting a chance to play the short video. I love what he says in this one. It speaks of being positive and joyful, knowing that death will not have the victory over us when all is said and done.
This was a big theme of Paul's teachings, and an important one. It's something I try to impress upon people all the time; i.e. be positive, and think on that which is of good report. We need to guard our hearts from thinking on the negatives or Satan can bring us into despair. In fact, this was part of Paul's teaching in the passage, now that I remember:
13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus...17 We who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
It is not just about comforting someone by wallowing in pity with them. It is about reminding them not to sorrow as others who have no hope, and to look on what Christ is going to do rather than on what the Devil has done. It is the mindset of victory, and the mindset that a soldier of Christ will seek to maintain at all times.
