Yesterday a poster on this board said the following.

But once on EWTN, I saw a cross with Jesus there, and Mary over Him, nailed too. It was bloody too. I am not making this up. After talking to another Catholic, he first denied it, but later said this was

Now as I recall the image on EWTN, which I have seen was one of Mary with daggers in her heart. Not nails. It is a depiction of the following passage:

Luke 2
35. and a sword will pierce even your own soul--to the end that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed."

With this in mind...

Also should the person who posted this representing it as Catholics thinking Mary was nailed to the cross, correct his mistake with his Catholic friend?

I guess private doesn't mean private here. Oh, well, keep on defending your religious views. Salvation is not religious, but it is reconcilation to the Father by the blood of the Lamb. You still did not answer all of my questions.

May God bless, golfjack

Hmmmm, a religous view it seems. Catholicism agrees with what is after the parenthesis.

OK, Are all the Books in the Bible Holy Spirit inspired? Does the Church still have that group Opus Dei?

May God bless, golfjack

I said go to the RCC and Orthodoxy forum and ask your questions and they will get answered. Don't try to derail this thread. Try to stay on topic. I know that is difficult. It is for me as well. Or you can post a thread in the apologetics section but it would be better in RCC and Orthodoxy.

As a child, I fell in love with beautiful churches, and I still love them. I'm kind of a devotee of Tiffany and Meyer stained glass windows. Marble altars, gleaming candleabra, beautiful vestments, murals on the ceiling, icons....they all turn me ON!!!!!!!!! I came up in ethnic churches, and they were all loaded with everything...........and still, whether anyone likes it or not, there is a feeling in RC Churches that pretty much non-existent anywhere else. It was interesting that a few months ago I was with a friend visiting a mid-sized city in PA., on a Sunday morning. We were 'doing' the churches. We visited about 5 or 6 Protestant churches. they were nice. Then we visdited a Croatian Catholic parish. The feeling inside was completely different---so alive. We both noted it. Yes, I do know why, too, Thess. :-D

Thx for your post Steve. I agree and I have heard more than one non-catholic, even a lutheran pastor, say the same thing. Check out the Cathedral of St. Paul in St. Paul if your ever up in Minnesota. It is breathtaking inside. Makes one feel right amongst the heavenly court. :D

That's for me!

Also, you might wanna check out the websites for:

St. Josaphat's Basilica, Milwaukee WI
Basilica of the Assumption, Covington KY

Both heaven on earth!

Wow. I could sit in front of that altar for hours and never move.
Now, THAT is a church!!!!!!!

MANY Thanks, Thess. :-D

Sure brightened up my evening!

I do like Rembrandt. The a certain "Jewishness" to the way he painted his characters.

I voted for the last one as a joke. The Ten Commandments is one of my favorite movies.

Close, to the top so it won't be forgotten.

I collect Icons, I love'em, it's a hang over from my St. Nektarios days.

:D
