Matthew 16:19 Finds the 'earthly church' with baptism being the condition to heavens Zion membership. (see Matthew 18:15-18 as even more documented)

Question: What good does it do (if any) for one to be baptised, if not into this church that Christ is telling us of?

Next question: We are commanded in Matthew 28:19-20 to baptize, verse 20 says.. "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: (and for how long??) and, lo, I am with you alway, even to the end of the world."

No good. Being baptised with a baptism found outside the One Church is not the one baptism thus it is invalid and basically taking a warm dip in front of alot of people. The One Baptism is found only in the One Church. This one baptism has happened since John the Baptist in 33 ad. and continues to this day in the Holy Orthodox Church unchanged. Baptism is ones enterance into the Race. It is the starting line to the Christian walk.

Next question: We are commanded in Matthew 28:19-20 to baptize, verse 20 says.. "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: (and for how long??) and, lo, I am with you alway, even to the end of the world."

Endure to the end Jesus says thus the Church observes the "doctrines of Jesus Christ" to the end without wavering and uncompromising. Jesus Christ is with His Church to the End. This also shows the authority of the Church in His command to "observe all things" they had been "commanded". No rebellion in that statement.

There are many verses in the NT that talk about baptism.

But there are also a great deal of ceremonial washings in the OT that were required by the priests and it was the difference between being clean or unclean in God's eyes.

I think that these ceremonial washings are one of the OT symbols of NT Christian baptism.
