Blessings and Curses of Jesus Christ
During the broadcast coverage of the Olympics in Rio the networks would show the huge statue of Jesus Christ the redeemer towering over the city of Rio high on a mountain peek. Then they would show the city below which is an ugly dichotomy of extreme wealth and extreme poverty. This juxtaposition of extreme wealth existing alongside extreme poverty is seen frequently throughout the pagan world.
The answer lies in its worship of statues and religious images. Jesus Christ said that, 'Blessed are those who have not seen me yet believe' John 20:29 . Whenever you place an image of Jesus Christ's body and face on a statue, or religious artifact, you are seeing Jesus Christ the redeemer as if he were actually alive in the flesh and you immediately lose the blessing granted in John 20:29.
Faith is believing, not seeing. Which is why God DID NOT place his laws of his New Covenant in our flesh, only our hearts and minds (Jeremiah 31:31-33). If God's laws were placed in our flesh then faith in God would become nothing but a ritualistic display using our flesh instead of a spiritual belief emerging from our heart and mind that God demands. God wants us to use our thoughts and emotions to worship him, not our rituals.
Equally, if God had placed his laws in our flesh, then Jesus Christ would have actually imparted a sinless deity upon Mary the Mother of Jesus Christ while in the womb. But because God placed his laws only in our hearts and minds there is no transference of any sinless deity upon Mary the Mother of Jesus Christ. Mary is as sinful as everyone else.
Another point worth mention is that many Christians lament that they are unable to perform any miracles like the early Christians did. But think of what this means. Look at Matthew 11:20-24 where Jesus denounced whole cities that witnessed his miracles and yet did not repent. After Jesus Christ died, was buried, and then resurrected, the whole area was later decimated by invaders to fulfill the curse that Jesus had warned about in Matthew 11:20-24.
There will be a day coming when miracles will return but the warning of Jesus Christ in Matthew 11:20-24 will still remain and those who refuse to repent will suffer eternal damnation at the hands of the Antichrist.
The lack of miracles in this day and age is simply God being compassionate and loving for God (hint: as Jesus Christ) does not want to condemn whole cities and nations because they refuse to repent.
Again, the day is coming soon when man will reject God and follow the Antichrist no matter how many miracles are performed in Jesus Christ's name. This refusal to repent will bring about the horrendous curse mention by Jesus Christ in Matthew 11:20-24.
Be patient. A miracle performed in front of a disbelieving crowd will only condemn that crowd to ruin.
Notice that in the Garden of Gethsemane Jesus performed a miracle (hint: restoring an ear) in front of all the apostles, the Roman authorities, and Temple authorities, when he was arrested. Everyone, especially Peter and Judas, saw this miracle, and yet, they either betrayed Jesus or openly denied him (hint: 3 times) which triggered the curse in Matthew 11:20-24. After Jesus Christ's death and resurrection the whole area was eventually destroyed by invaders to fulfill the curse of Matthew 11:20-24.
Also notice that since Peter denied Jesus right after he witnessed the miracle of the restored ear Peter was eventually chased out of that area like everyone else who rejected Christ's miracle that night. Peter's denial of Christ forfeited his calling to save the lost sheep of Israel. Peter also forfeited the ability of all Christians throughout history to evangelize the Jewish people since Christ made Peter the head of his church and Peter denied Jesus three times even after witnessing all of Jesus Christ's miracles. Peter unwittingly acted in unison with all the cursed cities that Jesus (hint: God become man) had mentioned in Matthew 11:20-24 and suffered for it, along with 'Christ's Church'.
Now only Jewish evangelists can ever redeem the lost sheep of Israel through a belief in Jesus Christ because Peter, as representing Christ's church, denied Jesus in Jerusalem therefore forever preventing him (hint: the Christian church) from ever returning to Israel to bring about a redemption through a belief in Jesus Christ. Which is why the two witnesses (hint: Moses and Elijah) that return to evangelize the Jewish nation to believe in Jesus Christ during the Great Tribulation (hint: read the Book of Revelation) MUST be Jewish from the Jewish faith!
Believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and be thankful it is personal and private between you and God so as to not cause unbelief in others that will bring the curse of Matthew 11: 20-24 upon every unbeliever who does not repent.
God Bless
note:
People say that conception is a miracle yet many will support abortion and homosexuality which rejects God's miracle of life with the result being that they will be included in the curse of Matthew 11:20-24.
Jesus gives a blessing to all those who have not seen Christ yet still believe. For anyone who makes an image of Jesus Christ, Jesus will subject them to the same rigors of being his disciple. Since all the disciples had seen Jesus Christ, and therefore God himself as Jesus is God become man, the first commandment can never be violated. The disciples of Jesus Christ were impoverished so as to not violate God's first commandment of placing the God's of this world, our wealth, possessions, and societal prominence, before him.
The first commandment states that, “we are not to have any other Gods before him.” Whenever man appears before God he is placing all of his wealth, possessions, societal and religious prominence, before God. Therefore man is actually placing his idols before God meaning that he has broken God's first commandment. So if someone desires to place an image of Jesus Christ on an object, or worships another person as if they we were God on earth, God will hold that person to the rigors of the first commandment and that person shall live a life of poverty devoid of any of this world's idols. This is so as to not present those “Gods” before God even if that God is only an image of God like man himself.
Amen
