Bliss

I believe that when we obey the teachings of Jesus (which are found in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), our lives turns into lives of bliss. Furthermore, life is eternal, and the bliss lasts forever, as long as we keep obeying the teachings of Jesus.

Some minor suffering is possible as we transform our lives from sinfulness into righteousness, but it doesn’t last long.

Really?

Tell that to the obedient disciples, all but one of them persecuted and killed violently for their faith.

If you do not suffer some persecution, which is really a promise of God that we will, then there is something wrong with your witness.

God promises us trouble!

John 16:33 NLT
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.â€

The transformation that takes place is not on our own initiative, but is a work of Holy Spirit as we submit to Him. We will suffer trouble throughout life, but when we walk in the Spirit, we have undiminished peace and joy.

Our trials and sorrows will end when we see Jesus face to face.

Bliss is a fleeting emotion. But the peace and joy of God is a fruit of the Spirit we all must cultivate.
