I'm studying Henry the 8th, and am looking for a book, or, book on tape, to augment my understanding of the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries, and their superstitions, diverse religious beliefs and practices, and daily lives.
I've been looking for such books, in Amazon, and am coming up with a lot of books on witchcraft, which I don't want, unless they are written from a Christian, AND I DO MEAN CHRISTIAN, perspective.
I'm not against reading about witchcraft, but, I don't want to read it from the viewpoint of
someone who practices it.

Can anyone in this huge forum, help me find some factual, informative books, or, as is my preference, books on tape?

Much obliged.

I recommend reading anything by St Thomas More, Henry VIII put him to death

OK, thanks, but, before I go out and buy the book, tell me why a book by him should be read, to find out about superstitions in the 15-17 centuries. Have you read any of his books?
If so, which one do you recommend, and in a nutshell, why?

I used to own a copy of Foxe's book of Martyrs.
It was a chilling book to read, but on the other hand, highly inspiring.
Marvelous accounts of people totally focused on Jesus at the most awful
times of their lives.

Can you imagine being burned alive, but, singing praises to Jesus during?

are there any books available online, that talk about how political and religious leaders used occultism for guidance?
I heard that, in the olden days, if a child was born deformed, that was a sign that the mother was a witch.

Thanks, Catholic Crusader.

Why do you call yourself a crusader, btw?

The Crusaders were liberators, liberating the Holy Land from the infidel.
I liberate minds from error.

(A bit pompous, but it sounds pretty good. :-D )

The notice was issued by the Jesuit General that everything would be in place when they saw this sign. A president being sworn in and facing the Obelisk, which as it turns out is the Washington Monument, Ronald Regan did that as he was sworn in back when he became the president.
When the new Inquisition begins is a mystery, like the second coming of Christ, we don't know.
That information was supplied by a former Jesuit that escaped their clutches, and that's
all I know

Give me a break dude. What's with you anyway.

Biblereader asks for book recommendations; then I see we've gone from that to the Jesuits and Ronald Reagan.

Hey, it's the end of the day and I needed a little comic relief anyway. :-D
