Born-Again Experience-Tomorrow, Next Week, Next Month...

Many in the Christian world think that the Born-again experience, is a one-time shot.....WRONG !

Consider what the Apostle Paul said.....
1 Corinthians 15:31 ".... I die daily".

Question: How can anyone 'die daily', without being born-again, first ?

King David, a man after God's own heart, said:
Psalms 51:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
51:2 Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
51:3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin [is] ever before me.
51:4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done [this] evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, [and] be clear when thou judgest.
51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.
51:6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden [part] thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
51:8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; [that] the bones [which] thou hast broken may rejoice.
51:9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me [with thy] free spirit.

Now, is this a born-again experience, or not ?

To those who claim, that David never lost his relationship with God .....
Isaiah 59:2 "But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear".

If David never lost his relationship with God, then why did he ask to have his salvation, 'restored' ?

Sin ALWAYS separates a person from God...it has always been so, and will always be so !
God has NEVER changed the way He deals with men/women....as "He is no respector of persons".

SO, the secret, is to have ones sins repented, of daily.....as I believe is what the Apostle Paul was refering to, in 1 Corinthians 15:31.

And, is not that what the 'born-again' experience is...having one sins forgiven, to start over again, fresh ?

I do not see it exactly that way. I agree with the die daily repenting. (even three times in the attitude of prayer perhaps) Surely John 3:1-10 would find Nicodemus offering the daily required sacrifices, (in faith) yet, he was not Born Again, nor even understood what Christ required. And the New Heart?? Hebrews 8:10.
This comes & goes, then comes & goes over & over again?? I don't think so. I suggest that any Christian professed even, never has the New Heart Transplant until being Born Again in the first place. That starts your above walk.

I see being Born Again as a required starting point of all and every believer. (David included, & Peter also when Christ stated.. 'after thou art converted..'.) A total submission is (was) my end of Christ's Eternal Covenant agreement. That is what baptism meant to me some 36 + years ago. Matthew 28:20

But all in all, the post is educational for most.

Being born again is the point at which those whom God has determined, are given eternal life. It is the one-time event at which the jouney of 'life' begins and without which there would be no death to the flesh.

Please remember that eternal life is given on condition of obedience.

Yes, and death to the fleshly desires, is to overcome sin, in the life....which is what the grace of God should teach us......
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Is obedience a human decision?
I think it is quite evident who is speaking here.....

20:20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I [am] the LORD your God.

Jesus Christ said: "IF..you love me, keep my commandments", (John 14:15)

Revelation 22:14 Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Wow, I agree with John the Baptist for once. :)

Our redemption from the dominion of the flesh is preformed once and for all, we are no longer slave to it, but the flesh (our old man) still exists in us which constantly lusts against the Spirit in us. Dying daily means rejecting the flesh daily, because until our body is redeemed we will always struggle with the weakness of our flesh, though we are not slave to it.

And there is also an interesting paradox with obedience/perseverance and one-time salvation/redemption, because the Bible shows (and often assumes) that if your faith is really genuine that you will persevere. The test or conditions for this then are checks on true faith and salvation, thus: "make your election sure."
