Bothered

I've never posted anything here before, but I'm really tired. I was going to bed when something struck me in a way that bothered me so much I had to get up.

It was a commercial about getting the NFL Channel. A guy says he doesn't have the NFL Channel and Taylor Swifts boyfriend says something like, Aren't we worth the money?
What bothers me is that I enjoy sports just for the competition and do't need to watch every game to enjoy it.
I think Mis. Swifts' boyfriend needs me to order NFL Channel because the owners needed to pay his big fat overinflated, unjustified contract and got his money from NFL Channel who want it from me.

It made me laugh, but it made me angry also.
I think it made me laugh because I've been conditioned to laugh at hypocrisy.
I saw Rodney Dangerfield once in person and I'm glad I emptied my bladder before the show. He was raw and my stomach hurt from laughing. I saw what he was saying in myself and every friend I ever had. Like a familiar spirit. We're trained to laught at sin. Makes us feel accepting of it.

It made me angry because God gave me everything I have and I didn't always appreciate that. Last week my sister said she went over to her sink and thanked God for the water coming out.
I'm so sorry for having been ungrateful. I'm glad God revealed to me how selfish I am. That's love.
I might email the NFL and let them know how greatly God has blessed me. I can tell the owners how wonderful it is that God has blessed them so well, they could play football for the rest of their lives and charge nothing for tickets. This is because the people who watch football even without cable buy the cars and beer and whatever else is advertized...which the last one I bought at a football game was like $10 bucks. 10 for a can of beer. I think I can sleep now.

They'll milk Mahomes and Maauto, and Maauto and Taylor Swift for all they're worth, Lol.

The NFL has always been about money. I'm a big NFL fan, cuz I think they put out the best product on the planet, bar none. But if you want to watch a fascinating (and pretty sad) movie, watch Concussion, staring Will Smith. It tells the story of Dr. Bennet Omalu, an African who came to America to make a success of himself and stumbled into discovering CTE, and how football was destroying the brains of football players back in the days before they took protection from head injuries seriously.

You'll never watch football the same way again, and you'll never view the NFL the same way again either. They tried to destroy an innocent man who was just trying to save people's lives.

Its sort of like pro wrestling. After Chris Benoit murdered his family and it was discovered that his brain was basically mush, people began to put pressure on WWE to stop with the chair shots and other bumps to the head. I honestly miss it. There's something really cathartic about pro wrestling and chair shots. Maybe it's just me? Lol.

Oh Why did I drink a big iced tea before I went to bed. I wouldn't have had to get up and use the bathroom. I never would have seen your question, but I hope someone is listening, because every man I ever knew personally, that is first hand, who served in combat, wasn't made better mentally by the war and I'm talking Ww2, Korea and Nam.
My father enlisted at 17 and served aboard a the USS Hobson, a destroyer in the Pacific. Later it was comverted into a minesweeper. It received 3 or 4 battle stars. My grandmother clipped an article out of our local newspaper of the ship being towed after being half sunk in in a battle.
My father only told me 3 things about his time in the service. He said war is more horrific than most people know about. He said though he was justified by law, it didn't ease the pain of having killed other human beings. He said he wished he hadn't enlisted at 17.

There is one other thing he told me about his days at sea. He said the officers didn't treat the enlisted men very well and they treated the cooks even worse. Which is why the officers coffee always tasted bitter. I almost fell on the floor when my dad told me that. Haven't we all wished to pee in the cups of our adversaries? I need to research this. It could be a prophetic curse on those who aren't kind to theur neighbors..."They shall drink bitter coffee"

Since nobody is listening, I wont go into my sisters boyfriend who went off to Viet Nam and kept in touch by letters. One letter I wasn't supposed to read contained pictures of viet kong soldiers with their heads on poles. Their ears were made into necklaces and were around the necks of my sisters boyfriend and a few other soldiers, all posing and smiling.
Anyhow,he came home addicted to heroin and my dad took him to a mental health facility where he could be helped.

My father found those pictures and threw them in the garbage. He was angry at my sister for having hid them. He yelled at my sister because my mom or anyone else could have found them by accident. He didn't know I found them 1st. He didn't blame my sisters boyfriend. He got him help as soon as he got home.
But who's really listening?

She might have enough to become part owner.

I love my Bills. Haven't won a Super Bowl in 50+ years. Not since there wasaSuper Bowl. I hate that team! 😡 They're playing the Bengals on TNF. The Bengals mopped up the Niners today and I'm sure the Bills have no chance against them. Oh I love that team.

I remember Namath playing near the end of his career hobbling around the field. There was no medical tent. Just a needle in the locker room at halftime and play the rest of the game.
Thanks so much. I love true stories with meaning. I not bothered anymore.😊

Well, me and H, I guess. I didn't mean nothing by it though. I get bored and I like gifs.

Very cool. :thumb My grandfather served in WWII and eventually wound up as an engineer who disabling bombs so they wouldn't detonate. Took a serious toll on his nerves by the end of the war. Became an alcoholic in later life, and died too early, which was a shame because he was an athlete and played 1st string for the Basketball team and was the 3rd string quarterback at Michigan State when he was in college.

But similar line of work during the war, so I enjoyed read the above.

For future reference, don't give away scores, Lol. I haven't watched it yet but recorded that game so I could. (Doh!) But that's good, I wanted the Bengals to win. :) And I LIKE The Bills a lot. Best fan base in the league (Saints fans make the top five, I think), and best quarterback in the league IMO (Mahomey is a bit overrated if you ask me, but maybe I go for the underdog or something).

Oh, and I'm an LSU fan, so it's hard not to like Joe Burrow. Won us a championship a few years ago. :) But I think I'm still rooting for the Bills.

Oh I can't believe I'm up for this. I'm serious Lord.
Riven, I know you won't believe this, but God wanted to write this down. I knew he wanted me me to tell you this before, but I forgot to add it to my last oost and told God I'd do it tomorrow. Then I couldn't get comfortable. Then I heard....Tell him now 😡😡😡.
Like who cares? I feel like Jonah and his "who cares if they here it" attitude. And it's so silly.

The big message is I hate that guy in the gif you posted. Isn't that funny? Then I heard him say, Tell Riven about the cook who treated you as a peasant.
I never liked rude bosses, but I never connected this...

This "Master Chef" with his "Exclusive Dinner Menu" once threw food on the floor of a restaurant where I diswashed. If it had fallen by accident I could understand, but he did it on purpose. He looked right at me with a stone face, threw the food on the floor and ordered me to pick it up

.Have you ever worked in a kitchen? Everyone knows the cook is in charge. I understood proper order. I also understood right from wrong, so with my 16 year old aense of right and wrong, I picked the food up and got some of it in his mouth. I almost got arrested but all they did was fire me.
I would never do that to your gif boy. I still don't like him. 😊

I like Allen. He makes mistakes but gives it everything he's got and he's banged up.
I knew Burrows was great the first time I saw him. They're a lot alike.
Love college ball too. The students excitement is hilarious. I know it's gone Hollywood but I enjoy it.
Anyway I hope the Bills win but I enjoy the athleticism and sportsmanship more. Like when Hyde suffered an almost life ending injury and in Cincy! The Bengals and their fans are great. I have a neighbor with a Bengals flag on his lawn and he loves my Bills flag. He comes over we talk about how "my team is better than your team."
Your Tigers are impressively ranked, but Georgia is a monster. They will repeat.
I'm tired. I'm going to bed and I don't care if the house stars shaking.

I'm wide awake.
Thank you for sharing about your grampa. I believe God is far more merciful than we imagine.
I don't mean that our Lord ever condones sin, but I believe he takes into account why some people become addicts. Many see them as scum. I don't mean someone like "prodigal son" who wanted to party and not work, but someone who could only cope with a tramatic event by going to oblivion.
I worked with a guy who was in Viet Nam. We worked in a bowling alley where he and the owner of the bowling alley were childhood friends. His friend gave him the job of managing the business. He came to work every day and worked as well as he could. I look back and see the owners compassion. I saw that vet struggle to be normal, while knowing himself that he's a basket case. I only saw that guy sober once and he had the DTs and that is no joke. Veterans with physical disabilities or depression who can't get all the help they need for free by the government who sent them into war infuriates me.

His friend showed him compassion. I would never condemn a man in that state. I would never look down my nose at combat veteran. I would hope he came to the knowledge of our blessed Savior, which is that if needed he is forgiven and can forgive those who hurt him.

I think I'm going to oversleep for shuffleboard tomorrow.

Hey All,
It's 2:50 AM, and I totally understand journeyman. Football is awesome. On every level from Pop Warner to professional, it is the most exciting sport to watch.
You guys are lucky to have teams that don't leave. You know Bills and the Saints will be there. The fans return that with ravenous loyalty. I live in California. The Rams have left and come back. The Raiders came and left back to Oakland, and now are in Las Vegas. Now Los Angeles has another city's team, the Chargers. (Even USC and UCLA, my college teams, are leaving in a sense. They are joining the Big Twelve conference.) I am pretty sure that next year, the As are leaving for las Vegas as well. I know Las Vegas is building a baseball stadium for them. It is all about the money here. I no longer root for a particular NFL team. I cannot give my loyalty to a team that does not return it.

The great thing about football is that you don't have to be loyal to enjoy the game. The competition makes it enjoyable. Oh well, rambled enough.
Keep walking everybody.
May God bless,
Taz

Exactly. Having a home team to root for is both a blessing and a curse. You go into Sunday thinking, "I'm gonna sit back and relax and have fun watching a game." And then they get stomped into the dirt, and you're like, "That was worst expenditure of three hours I've made in my entire life," Lol, whereas if you weren't tied to any team you could just enjoy the game for whatever it was.

Mixed bag. We turned it around yesterday, so maybe he'll have something good to talk about this week. But I feel sorry for people like this guy right here sometimes. Being an analyst for a team that drastically underperforms or continuously loses can't be a fun job, Lol.

Your Bruins beat the pants off Colorado. Felt sorry for Cheleland fans years ago when the Browns became the Ravens. Same with the LA merry-go-round.
My stupid Bills will never win a Super Bowl. Dear God I love that team.😊
(I know the players all live the fans, but for more money they'd love fans somewhere else lol.)

I actually got to where I stopped worrying about Super Bowls and championships. I figure if a team I like ended up winning several more games than they lost, that's a team I had fun watching. :)

I never could get into football. I do watch it on occasion, but I don't have cable. So, it's usually the highlights of a Miami Dolphins game. Oddly enough, I used to really enjoy football video games though. The 2K series before EA for the license and now all we have are those terrible Madden games.

Hockey is more my speed. It's fast and people can do amazing things on the ice. I haven't been to a game in a while because of the prices. $25 just to park. It used to be $15. Oh, and they changed our logo and it really annoyed me. It still does.

Meh. I think they had it right the first time. The guy that owns the team is an army guy and he wanted some kind of "army influence" in the team's logo. I would seriously punch him in the face. 😠
