,What kind of works is God looking for to earn rewards in this life and the next to come?
He is looking for your actions and reactions towards others and Him.
When someone does you wrong, do you hate him, call him names, gossip about them, argue back like the devils do? Or, do you hold your peace and over come the situation with good instead of evil like God would have you do?
Do you teach your children how to lie, by using them to lie to the debt collector or someone on the phone for you, then punish them when they now lie to you? Perhaps in other ways, such as don’t tell mommy or daddy, it is our little secret about something? Or you help them lie to the teacher , showing that you love your child more than Christ, because you will do evil forsaken Christ for your child?
Do you resist the opportunity to take advantage of someone or to steal something that you think no one will miss or suspect you of? You are working the works of the devil if you don't resist, looking like his image.
Do you show the same anger, unforgiveness or resentment towards others who hurt you.. Being just like the ungodly, who know nothing about the agape love of God. But instead, have learned good understanding to know that these who do these kinds of things are in prison, being held captive to sin and are ruled by their fleshly lusts to steal, kill and destroy to get a head in life for SELF survival like beasts do, being in the image of the beast?
Do you get road rage when someone cuts in line or in front of you? And then, as you are claiming how rude!!! You turn on them acting just like them or even puffed up bigger by your inflated anger?
We are supposed to understand the things the devil puts in mans ways to get them to stumble and should be grown up enough (mature in Christ) to See with our spiritual eyes what is happening and stand FIRM and faithful to God’s Word, in what He has told us our actions should be in these matters, and don’t let yourself be tangled up and drawn into being in their image, showing the Exact mirror traits as the behavior that came against you. For if we do as they do, we are the same as they are!
These are just a few ways to earn our rewards, but there are many more ways for you to build up your treasures in heaven, they are all in the Bible that we are supposed to be putting on over our old man of sin to cover it up so that eventually, we don’t remember those devilish ways any longer and neither will our Father. For we will have clothed our self in Christ into the new man that is no longer tempted to be corrupted by the devils wiles and our garment is getting whiter and whiter as we keep washing it in the water of THE WORD.
God has given us His Word our Lord, His Spirit the helper and the Armor of God Eph. 6:10 and we must put it on, and keep it on and learn how to sharpen your sword so that you can be ready to whip out that Word when the enemy attacks (Resting as you let God do the work)so that you come out the victor and God can bless us for our Faith to believe He is the rewarder, and will reward us for our faithfulness to adhere to His Word/His Son. While bringing physical needs to others in need is a kind thing to do, God is more interested in doing a work within us. So that our every action is perfect, rather seen by man to please them or that cannot be hidden from God who sees all our motives and thoughts and judges accordingly. Only one who believes God is real and can see their every move is the one who is walking in true faith. All others are in unbelief.
Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
