Does God still call preachers today,or was Paul the last one? There are no others recorded after Paul. He called Timothy and put him in the office. He told Titus to ay hands on some and make them elders.
The requirements for the office in Timothy is,If a man "desires"the office. Not If God Calls a man to Office.
I dont want to start an argument, just thoughts in my own mind.

So is your position that since the recording of the early church ceased, for obvious reasons, there is therefore no calling of men or women to particular duties such as preaching by God?

God's "call" is just a way of saying, "God led me to this." I certainly wouldn't want any man in a pastoral role who wasn't certain God had led him to be in it. There is too much that will oppose any man who pastor's well for a man to attempt to serve as a pastor apart from a deep certainty that he is where God wants him to be.
