ROMANS 8:29-30 AND REVELATION 22:11
We can correlate the next (1) passage and (2) verse with the progression of the believer in Jesus Christ as we are saved and conformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ for entry into the Kingdom of God.
From the time we are called to salvation, God justifies us of our sins as we repent by confessing and turning from sin (repentance) until we have been justified and born again by being reconciled to God when forgiven of all trespasses and sins. We go on to perfection as God purifies us of sin by conforming us into the image of Jesus Christ to make us holy. This passage and the following verse have the same meaning and help us understand this.
(1) For whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers. Whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, those He also justified. And whom He justified, these He also glorified (Romans 8:29-30).
“Calledâ€Â>>>>>>>>>repentance>>>>>>>>>â€ÂJustifiedâ€Â>>>>>>>>>sanctification>>>>>>>>>â€ÂGlorifiedâ€Â
(2) He acting unjustly, let him still act unjustly. And the filthy, let him be filthy still. And the righteous, let him be righteous still. And the holy, let him be holy still (Revelation 22:11).
“Filthyâ€Â>>>>>>>>>>repentance>>>>>>>>>â€ÂRightousâ€Â>>>>>>>>>sanctification>>>>>>>>>>â€ÂHolyâ€Â
The nation of people Israel has the Holy Spirit of God within them, received at conception through either parent being a descendant of Jacob. God foreknew and called them. They are predestinated to salvation by sanctification of the Spirit.
(1) God the Father calls us by conviction of sin to show us how filthy we are in sin to draw us to salvation; (2) We believe in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and repent by confessing and turning from sin to be forgiven of all trespasses and sins; (3)When forgiven of all trespasses and sins, we are born again by being reconciled to God, justified as righteous by the Spirit of Christ being the life within us; (4) God works with us to purify us of sin (sanctification of the Spirit); (5) When God see us as pure in heart, we are sanctified completely, made holy and glorified by baptism of the Holy Spirit of God the Father to be “sons/daughters†of God and heirs of the Kingdom of God.
“CALLED†& “FILTHYâ€Â
He also called (Romans 8:29), And the filthy (Revelation 22:11)
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers. (Romans 8:28-29) And the filthy, let him be filthy still (Revelation 22:11). God calls those He foreknew by conviction of sin to show us the filth of sin in our life and need of salvation. No one can come to Me unless the Father who has sent Me draw him, and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:44).
God predestined us to salvation by sanctification of the Spirit (2 Thessalonians 2:13). We are elect by the foreknowledge of God unto obedience through sanctification of Spirit (1 Peter 1:2). We are convicted of sin and brought to repentance to be born again and saved when forgiven of all trespasses and sins. God works in our life to purify us of sin (sanctification of the Spirit) and make us holy by conforming us to the image of Jesus Christ for entry into the Kingdom of God as “sons/daughters†of God.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:12). By believing in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, we have power to be born again and saved as a child of God. We believe and repent by confessing and turning from the world and sin to be made alive together with Christ (born again) from being spiritually “dead†in trespasses and sins when reconciled to God by being forgiven of all trespasses and sins.
Those predestined to salvation are: (1) those who receive the Holy Spirit when conceived through either parent being a born again believer; (2) Gentiles that receive the Holy Spirit, either by baptism of the Holy Ghost (Romans 15:16), or by an intimate relationship with a born again believer (1 Corinthians 7:14); and (3) Descendents of the twelve sons of Jacob (the nation of people Israel) who receive the Holy Spirit when conceived (1 Corinthians 7:14). The pearly gates of New Jerusalem (the church) are inscribed with the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Jacob (Revelation 21:12), because their descendants are holy by receiving the Spirit when conceived through either parent being a descendant of Jacob, and by Jesus Christ give access to the city. The unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; else your children would be unclean, but now they are holy (1 Corinthians 7:14).
A child is born of the Spirit and holy after receiving the Spirit when conceived through either parent being a born again believer. Those without God in the world (“Gentilesâ€Â) receive the Spirit through intimate relationships with born again believers, but are not born again and saved, and given access to the city of God until they believe in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, repent unto being forgiven of all trespasses and sins, and are made holy by baptism of the Holy Ghost.
Gentiles ordained to eternal life believed and received the Holy Ghost (Acts 13:48). That the offering up of the Gentiles might be found acceptable, sanctified by Holy Ghost (Romans 15:16). Gentiles (who were without God in the world, Ephesians 2:11-19) were elected to salvation by receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. They repented and were baptized with water in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and made alive together (born again) with the Spirit of Christ when forgiven of all trespasses and sins. They are conformed to the image of Jesus Christ by sanctification of the Spirit to be made holy and grafted into the good olive tree (Israel) when sanctified completely.
Christ abolished the Law to make both Jews and Gentiles one (Ephesians 2:11-19). Jesus Christ ended division by the Law between Jews and Gentiles when He fulfilled the Mosaic Law by paying the penalty for sins (once for all), so that by the grace of God for our faith, both might be members of one body by one Spirit when born again by being reconciled to God when forgiven of all trespasses and sins.
To be born again by the grace of God, we need to trust in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and not our own efforts at being righteous by any works or keeping of traditions or sacraments as being essential for salvation. We can fall from grace (Galatians 5:4) if we try to be approved of God by any means other than faith in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and our righteousness.
<<<<<<repentance unto being justified (born again)>>>>>>
If we confess our sins, He forgives us and cleanses all our unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
God forgives (justifies) and cleanses (sanctifies) us of our sins as we repent by confessing and turning from sin. We need to forgive the trespasses of others, and try to be reconciled to those we have offended.
That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved (Romans 10:9). “Shall be saved†does not necessarily mean, “we have been saved†if we confess Jesus Christ as Lord. When we are forgiven and is a matter of the attitude of our heart between God and us. Believers need to repent by confessing and turning from sin to be reconciled to God and born again (saved) when forgiven of all trespasses and sins.
With the mouth, confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10). We repent and confess our sins until we are born again as children of God when forgiven of all trespasses and sins. We spiritually mature as we are conformed to the image of Jesus Christ to become heirs of the Kingdom of God (Revelation 21:7).
Make disciples of all, baptizing them in the name of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (28:19-20). God wants us to become disciples rather than believers that merely profess Christ but do not exemplify His character.
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38). Peter says we are to “repent†and be baptized (with water) in the name of Jesus Christ to be forgiven of past sins, and when we have repented and been forgiven of all trespasses and sins, we are made alive together with the Spirit of Christ (born again) by being reconciled to God.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). God is not willing for any to perish, but that we all believe in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and repent by confessing and turning from sin until we are born again by being reconciled to God when forgiven of all trespasses and sins (come to repentance).
Repent and do works that show your repentance is real (Acts 26:20); just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also is faith dead without works (James 2:26). Works do not save us, but our works reflect our faith as to whether we really believe and are followers of Jesus Christ. Many profess to be Christians, but do our works reflect the character of Jesus Christ Who gave His life for us so we could live?
“JUSTIFIEDâ€Â& “RIGHTEOUSâ€Â
He justified (Romans 8:30)
He that is righteous (Revelation 22:11)
These words translated to mean “Justified†and “Righteous†are the same Greek word and mean, “to regard as just or innocentâ€Â. We are joined together with Christ into His death, and raised to life together with Christ in His resurrection when forgiven of all trespasses and sins. We have been justified of sin and are righteous before God because Christ (the righteous one) is the life in and through us. We are made alive together with Jesus Christ (born again), when forgiven of all trespasses (Colossians 2:13).
If we do not forgive the trespasses of others, our Father will not forgive ours (Matthew 6:15). We need to repent unto being forgiven of all trespasses and sins, to be reconciled to God and born again. We need to truly forgive the trespasses of others and try to be forgiven by those we have offended.
Dead in sins (and trespasses), God quickens us (makes us alive) together with Christ when forgiven, by grace we are saved (Ephesians 2:5). Believers are made alive together with Christ and saved by the grace of God for their faith in Jesus Christ when we have repented unto being forgiven of all trespasses and sins.
To be reconciled to God and born again, we need to repent by confessing and turning from sin until we have been forgiven of all trespasses and sins. We are then purified of sin as we are conformed to the image of Jesus Christ to become as a little child to enter into the Kingdom of God. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life (John 5:24). We pass from death to life by faith in Jesus Christ when forgiven of all trespasses and sins. We know that we have passed from death unto life because we love the brethren. He that does not love his brother abides in death (1 John 3:14). The attitude of our heart toward others is an indication as to whether we are born of God.
If we neither do righteousness, nor love the brethren, we are not of God (1 John 3:10). In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the Devil: everyone not practicing righteousness is not of God, also he who does not love his brother (1 John 3:10). The King answered the righteous saying, you gave me food when I was hungry and drink when I was thirsty, you clothed me when I was naked and took me in as a stranger, you visited me when I was sick and came to me while I was in prison (Matthew 25:33-40). The unrighteous shall go into everlasting destruction, but the righteous into life eternal (Matthew 25:46)
But if, while we seek to be justified in Christ, we also were found to be sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Let it not be said! (Galatians 2:17) Justification is a process of being justified as we are being forgiven by confessing and turning from sin, until we have been justified when forgiven of all trespasses and sins and born again, reconciled to God with the Spirit of Christ as our righteousness.
<<<<<<sanctification>>>>>
Salvation is not only being freed from condemnation and guilt by being forgiven past sins, but being cleansed of unrighteousness by God to make us holy as we are conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. From the beginning, God has chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth, (2 Thessalonians 2:13). Before the foundation of the world, God chose us in Him (Ephesians 1:4) to be saved through our faith in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and to be cleansed of unrighteousness by the Spirit working with us (sanctification) to make us holy.
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory (1 Corinthians 15:54). Being dead in trespasses and sins, we have been raised incorruptible when we are born again by being joined together with Christ, and are made holy as God purifies us of sin by sanctification of the Spirit to enter into the Kingdom of God. When we become pure in heart, we are sanctified completely by baptism of the Holy Spirit of God and “changed†to put on immortality.
Be converted and become as little children, or you can not enter into the Kingdom of God (Matthew 18:3). We need to become as little children (pure in heart) to enter into the Kingdom of God.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). God cleanses (purifies) us of all unrighteousness (sin) to make us holy for entry into the Kingdom of God as “sons/daughters†of God and heirs of the Kingdom of God.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God (Matthew 5:8).
Every man that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure (1 John 3:3).
HOLY
He also glorified (Romans 8:30)
He that is holy (Revelation 22:11)
May the God of peace sanctify you wholly (1 Thessalonians 5:23). When God sees us as pure in heart, we are sanctified completely as “sons/daughters†of God by baptism by the Holy Spirit of God our Father.
But as he which has called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy (1 Peter 1:15-16). We are made holy as we are conformed to the image of Jesus Christ to enter into te Kingdom of God as a “son/daughter†of God, and heir of the Kingdom of God.
Follow peace with all men and holiness, without which no man may see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). We are called to be holy, for without holiness, no man shall see the Lord.
With love in Christ,.........God bless
