Can someone explain to me what the Affliction T-shirts are?

I have seen two people at our church wearing shirts with AFFLICTION across the top and some pretty disturbing looking images on them. I keep looking on the net for information, but don't really see any references to Christianity. Are these people just wearing these shirts to church in poor taste?

Their t-shirts sell for about $40 -$50!!! I don't have any affliction t-shirts, but I do have some 'Ft.Smith fight club' shirts, All-American Goju shirts, and ARK Judo shirts.

The affliction shirts have nothing to do with christianity. They have a category marked "sinful." :o
