It's an atheist's "Strawman" version of the truth of Scripture. A "Strawman" is a weak, cartoonish version of a view, or argument, that is easy to knock down. It is offered as an accurate representation of the view or argument, though, so if you don't know the truth yourself, it can deceive you into thinking it is accurately stating things. If you want a good, biblical answer to the "Strawman" that is set up in the meme you linked to, you can read Paul Copan's book, "Is God a Moral Monster?"

Then these push also no absolute morality .

Such things show an incredible ignorance both of what other cultures did back then and what the Bible is actually saying in those passages. But, it's much easier to post a straw man to "support" one's beliefs, in order to justify unbelief, then it is to do the hard work of actually figuring out what the Bible says and possibly finding out that one must change their beliefs.

HI DoaWK1992

It's a part of the law that God gave His people Israel. If an Israelite were to rape or in any other way have sexual relations with a virgin, then God's law was that man was to marry the woman. However, let me repeat, it's a part of the Jewish law that God gave unto Israel. There are a lot of laws and commandments that God gave Israel, that aren't applicable to non-Israelites. Not eating pork or most shellfish; not mixing their clothing materials, etc.

These are commandments that are strictly for the nation of Israel as God was leading them and building them up into a special nation holy unto Himself. Anyone trying to tell you that it's something that we're supposed to be mindful of or obedient to today, just doesn't understand what God has done in choosing Abraham to build a nation of people special to Himself.

Hope that helps.

God bless,
Ted
