Can we be saved without humility?

Q: Can we be saved without humility?
Unless we humble our selves and become like little children we will not enter the kingdom of heaven (Matt.18: 3). Furthermore, in order to accept what God has promised us we must be meek (Matt. 5: 5).

Q: How do we become humble? We must allow the Spirit of God to lead us (Galatians 5:25); look out for the interest of others over our own (Philippians 2:4); and forget ourselves and follow Jesus (Luke 9:25). To follow Jesus is to do as He did.

Q: How did Jesus show humility? He emptied himself, taking the form of a slave; and humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross (Philippians 2: 6). He did this in order to free us from our sins that we committed against Him.

Do we have faith in Jesus and can we be saved if we do not humble our selves like Jesus did and offer our lives for the service of those who hurt us?

Humility is a virtue and helps us on the way to sanctity and holiness so that we can more readily accept the great gift of salvation. Is it completly necessary? I would say no but definatly a help.

How do we become humble? St. Benedict puts it very well in his rule (Rule of St. Benedict -- I highly recomended this book) I will look up his steps and get back to you.

I think this is a trick question. Through Christ alone one receives salvation, however, it takes a certain degree of humility to accept your sinfulness and turn to Christ. keep in mind, words don't save someone, not even the sinners pray as many would like to think. It is through belief in Christ as redeemer that one is saved. You can try to constrain it to words, but I don't think words could even truly describe what it takes to be saved.

Abba Anthony said, " I saw the snares that the enemy spreads out over the world and I said groaning, "What can get through from such snares?" The I heard a voice saying to me, "Humility".

Humility is the path that leads to salvation. Salvation is the journey through the snares.

If one sees salvation as a race then one soon sees that the race is won by humility.

God gives grace to the humble and resists the proud as it is written.
