Cannon printer

I had an HP for a long time.We moved a couple of times and in the process it started to spool. It was old anyway. But I did like it.I have been told that the wireless printers can also be utilized with plugging them in.You can use them either way.

I am using a cheap hp right now just because I don't want to put out good money on another one yet, I will later. What's important to me right now is getting a iMac.

My desktop uses the usb and my laptop does the wireless, all without fault.

Mac, Ubuntu driven PC, basically, the cost is the difference. Both run on the Unix Kernel and are great choices. Before my favorite grandchild married that good looking, strong Christian man last March, we bought her a Mac and she loves it as a teacher in the public school system.

At work I have an HP laserjet pro 400 color and I love it.

Only $249 at Amazon. I have been considering a laser, since they are not supposed to dry up like ink jets do. I don't print very often, and the ink jets tend to have dry ink in their printing heads when I do print, making the copy smeared.

Do you know if the pro 400 works if you let it sit idle for a couple of months in between printing documents?

So an HP is more dependable?Brother was one of the brands that were rated very high. :thinking

HP and Brother are both good names. I've had a Brother DCP7020 copier/printer/scanner for years had it has been a wonderful machine. I also have an HP LaserJet 4200 all in one office machine, which has also been wonderful. Both of these are older machines and may have now been discontinued but both names, HP and Brother, are brands for you to consider.

A lot depends on what operating system you're using. Make sure any printer you buy is compatible with your operating software. Also decide if y0u want a multi-function machine or just a plain vanilla printer. Most printers now come with some information about how many pages you can print from their cartridge, so check it out and find the one that will be the least expensive on ink over time.

My experience with Brother was in the early 90s and I would bet that they have changed everything by this time. There are, to my family, only two critical points. we all three print, heavily, for the Church and Church Ministries so that makes it impossible to print from the All In One Cartridges and before we purchase we must be sure a CISS (Continuous Ink Supply System) can be purchased for the Printer.

With the advent of the Web there is no longer the need to rely on the salesman or salesperson being honest. We, now, need to know our prefered destination to shop, look the store up on the web, search the store for for "Printers" and see what looks good, write it down and search for that printer, adding "CISS or continuous ink supply" to the search. It will cost from 60 to 150 for a good one and four pints of ink, paying for itself, ten times over, in the first year if you print heavily and if you print something for your Sunday School Class each week it will easily pay for itself in the first year.

If you find a CISS is available, I would order it as soon as I got home.

It has been a nightmare trying to return this copier and I bought a warranty.I had to call the Cannon company and finally they will let me mail it back to them.

A man on a tech board said laser printers work good for infrequent printers. He can leave his laser printer idle for 2 months, then print 10 copies without a problem. Laser printers don't use ink, but rather plastic toner that does not dry up.. Once in a while he has to remove the cartridge, and shake it to prevent the toner from clumping together.

They are heavier than inkjet printers though. 60 lbs. for the pro 400.

Laser printers work best for infrequent printers, and heavy duty printers (toners last much longer than ink cartridges).. Inkjets work best for those who print maybe one or two copies per day, and print better pictures. At least that's what the tech board people said.

The Brother DCP7020 I mentioned is actually a laser printer. Works well, but is black and white only, no color printing. Can get about 2500 pages from a cartridge, and the toner cartridge is about $70 at Staples, can be found a lot cheaper online.

Only 30 lbs. too. Easier to tote than the color printer. Hmmm. Thanks Mike.

I use both an HP Laser and an HP Office Jet. I print a lot of labels on photo grade sticky sheets and that should never be done on the laser because the images will flake off. On regular paper there is nothing better than my laser. My seventy dollar cartridges cost me from five dollars up, after market refills, and up to fifteen plus shipping. As mentioned, I need to sometimes remove and carefully shake the cartridge but if I printed on both, the same number of times, the laser is only microscopically cheaper than my CISS and with the Ink I never change the cartridges. Much cleaner.

Okay, I'll keep the inkjet for special paper printing. A laser printer works best on regular paper

After market CISS makes the inkjet inexpensive, if I need to print a lot in the future.. Thank you Bill.

The initial expenditure frightens people but they never see the ink that comes with most kits equals at least a couple of hundred dollars worth in cartridge expense. I began with searching youtube for how to refill my cartridges, learned that and my daughter pourchased the first CISS. Either way is a God send for the one that prints as though they are wealthy.

I still fill some cartridges but my wife and daughter will no longer even consider it. If any of you folks consider not laying the initial out lay and choose the refill option, still taught all over the web,. be certain you pick up some form of exam gloves from Wal-Mart because you will spill until you master the process.
