Hi everyone, some of you may know that i've just recently gotten back from my trip to Grand cayman where I was volunteering to help bring up the population of Blue Iguana's which is one of the worlds most endangered reptiles (although steadily becoming a healthier population). Here's the trip!

Awesome! What a great trip! I love the reptiles and I know my husband would love to go on a trip like that as well. Thanks for sharing.

What is the little blue snake you were holding there and while were on the subject of reptiles, what is the snake in your siggy.

We have a boa constrictor, but Issus doesn't have the brilliant colors of the snake pictured. Is it a pet of yours?

The little blue snake was just a Blind Snake. Their actually quite common and I believe they are on all continents now. They are usually underground and they feed off of ant larvae. That species was introduced to the islands probably chugging along in the soil of some potted plants. I believe the one pictured is full grown.

The one in my sig is still a boa :) Just a brazilian rainbow boa. She's a friend of mines who I photographed for his site. They only get to 4-6 feet. so not as big as your B.C. And they need A LOT of humidity. But they are really friendly and beautiful creatures.

aaaaww, I wish I went! I don't like snakes though =0(

Brazillian Rainbow Boa. What a beautiful snake!

:lol I think one of the reasons my husband married me was because I didn't run screaming out of his house when he showed me his boas. He had two at the time.

Again, thanks for sharing the pictures of your trip. The Cayman Islands are (is?) one of the places on my and my hubby's places to go list.

My husband and I are enjoying your pictures. He was very impressed with the rainbow boa.

I was wondering what we were looking at in pictures 10 and 11. Steve thought they might be some kind of pitcher plants, but they looked like they had eggs in them.
