I can tell you have worked hard on the site. The most important thing to remember is does the site serve it's purpose? I believe your website does a wonderful job at that.

I have a few suggestions for your layout. I like your logo. Consider making that more dominate on the homepage or even make a splash page with just that and a brief welcoming sentence or two. Have you ever considered starting with an already designed template? I have in the past and sometimes they are great starting points. Check out: http://www.myfreetemplates.com. They are free and some of them are really sharp. It just takes time customizing them to your needs.
