Interesting considering how brutally Christians used to be persecuted in China until not very long ago. Even to this day China is ranked among the countries where Christians suffer persecution (according to the persecution watch list published by the christian NGO Open Doors).

Looking at the OT we can see when the Israelites got comfortable , ya know fat and lazy, they turned from God. When held in bondage they again turned to Him..

"Mao thought he could eliminate religion. He thought he had accomplished this," Prof Yang said. "It's ironic – they didn't. They actually failed completely."...........Reminds me of the Pharisees that thought they did away with Jesus by putting him to death.

Among China's Protestants are also many millions who worship at illegal underground "house churches", which hold unsupervised services – often in people's homes – in an attempt to evade the prying eyes of the Communist Party.................even the Disciples had to go underground using private homes as they faced persecution from the Romans. I also read where cameras are put in the Church so the government can control what is being taught. We know God can put a veil over the cameras as His word finds a place in the heart of His people.
