Godly Sorrow is remorse & FEAR is from [known danger]. Like being IN Hell, [or KNOWING] that you soon will be! And ALL that are to be such will finally know, when they come up in the Second resurrection to die the Second Death! They all are resurrected as it was when they had died. In REBELLION!

Note a few 'Inspired' verses in this Bible Study of Matt. 4:4's requirement.

Psalms 37
[1] Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity
.
[2] For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

Psalms 68
[1] Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.
[2] As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God
.

Psalms 90
[8] Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Psalms
[7] When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish;
it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

And Job?
Job 20
[4] Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
[5] That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?
[6] Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;
[7] Yet he shall perish for ever
like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?
[8] He shall fly away as a dream
, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.

Proverbs 2
[10] When wisdom entereth into thine heart
, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
[11] Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

[12] To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;

[13] Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
....

[19] None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.

[20] That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
[21] For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
[22] But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

Eze. 33
[11] Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Na. 1
[3] The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

Obad. 1
[15] For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.
[16] For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.

Before we read more Old Testament verses, lets see what Christ's 'parable Inspiration' said in one place about these Inspired 'Holy Men of God'!

Luke 16's parable.

[29] Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
[30] And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
[31] And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Some more thought from these of Inspiration:
Godly Sorrow does what?? Note here in the N.T. first..
Matt. 27
Matt.27
[1] When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:
[2] And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.
[3] Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned,[/c] repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
[4] Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

(did you catch that? 'when he found that he was condemed'. The repentance was Godly Sorrow?? Why then did he go out and hang himself E.E.! (Matt. 27:5)

And King Saul?
1 Sam. 15
[22] And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
[23] For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. (he to had a violent death)

[24] And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
[25] Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD.
(Godly Sorrow? Hardly!)

Matt. 7's BROADWAY.

Matt. 7
[13] Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
[14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

[15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
....
[21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; [but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.]
[22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

[23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

[24] Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and [doeth them], I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
[25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
[26] And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
....
[29] For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

hello brother.

when reading, it occured to me... It is of no comfort knowing that the wicked will suffer come judgment day. And while Gods Word can be inspirational, it can also resonate by way of suffering and deep emotional hurt cr aused by the wicked.

are we to simply endure the trials? The fact remains that suffering is part of this world and sometimes can feel like a prison sentance for a crime one did not commit. Perhaps Solomon understood this when he wrote about the seasons... And though we yearn for the sun upon our face, I've read nothing in Gods Word that speaks of when the desire for the sun has deminished and no longer matters.

why is it that the only hope for the end of suffering is only found in the world to come when we desire so deeply to bring heaven to earth and be the light in this dark world... And we find thorns and briars where we've toiled so dilegently, and put so much hope in because we wanted for others a life free from suffering, and its all just vanity... And I don't know how !eremiah praised God when jerusalem was burning and women ate their children when I have such a hard time with my faith in the simpler trials.

I do not follow exactly your point made? Unless it is that which we see in Heb. 12
[4] Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

[5] And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

[6] For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and [scourgeth every son whom he receiveth]].

[7] If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

[8] But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

This sounds to me like some of us shunning requirements known as the sin of omission & not only commision. And the wicked suffering & being lost come judgement day as you say? Perhaps it is because we did not want to be ill thought by others more so, Than really Loving Christ + these ones.. so that they could repent & be saved?

Note Eze. 9? (and the Lord's angels work?)
[4] And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and [[set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof]].
[5] And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:
[6] Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began [at the ancient men] which were before the house.

I would venture that these ones are few in number & are judged mean & hateful by these 'ancient men', + all of these others. what'cha think?

Me again: With no comment, the bible study sure sounds like the lukewarm 'sick' ones of Rev. 3:16-17??:verysick or :sleep ????????

When I study my bible it is seen as a book from cover to cover. And the last ending surely finds me engrossed with it all! Never had it accured to me that the Word of God was only for Adam & not the ones living at the time of Rev.

1 Cor. 10
[11] Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
[12] Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

Eccl. 3
[14] I know that, whatsoever God doeth, (Surely I include the word of SAYETH there!) it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
[15] That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

So in Rev.'s Ending, what has God again said??

Rev. 22
[18] For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
[19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

OK: So we see that we find a large majority in Matt. 7's Broadway & in Rev.'s Ending of chapter 17:1-5. A sorrowful FACT!:sad Yet in Bible Study we need to think of why & how this all came & comes about?? Right?

In this Rev. studies end we see the LAST CALL OF GOD for His [VERY OWN] in these denominations. 'COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE'!
OK again, we had found that the denomninations of the great world/wide whore had daughters also worldwide who are ACTUALLY CHRIST VERY OWN! (sure they were living the very best as for how they knew thus far!) Yet, if Christ is not in these churchs that these ones MUST leave, who is?? Rev. 3:9.

But here is the Bible Study POINT.... how did satan destroy all of these denominations to the point that they would RETURE to their whore mother???
Killing them off only made them more secure! So he had to infiltrate them in sheeps clothing. And little by little we see their return.

And what are we hearing from their educated mom's message?? Christ say's to FLEE OUT & mother is at present saying to stay yoked to these churchs!! Why? because satans agenda is being carried forward! The only thing that makes UNITY needed for him, is a UNITED FORCE! That of 666. (church/state) And already we see the USA Supreme court on his side, with all ex/protestants returning home to him.
One cannot but hardly smile in disbelief at the display against Mormanism & hardly nothing any more seen about Romes garbage. But we read that 'the whole world wondered after the beast' of Dan. 7's goverment prophecy, & Rev. 13:3.

Matt. 6 has just two camps!

What do you believe is "Romes garbage"? Please be specific.

Exod. 20 + James 2:10 which includes them ALL!
[3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
[4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
[5] Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
[6] And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
[7] Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will
not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. (see Mark 7:7!)
[8] Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
[9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[11] For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

James 2
[10] For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
[11] For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
[12] So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

---Elijah here:
These are the Lord's SPECIFIC WORDS, not mine. Yet how they could be more clear surely depends on one being Rom. 8:14 'Led'. It is He [Christ] that says: 'IF YE LOVE ME KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.'

I'm fairly new to the forums and unfamiliar with your personal beliefs, so tell me, what words of Christ do you suspect the Church feels are not needed anymore that we should be warned about this?

The Church must cease saying that jesus is love.

This misdirects the whole gospel message, which is that Christ is Truth.

A point of explanation was when Rev Martin Luther King stood up for Truth, he was "crucified" as is not unusal for such behavior.

Christians forget that Jesus explained to us that Torah, all the Law and the prophets, sum up to love God and love one another.
Certainly Jesus did not come to reiterate what the Old Testament had already told us.

The New Covenant is that men accept the Truth, belive it is their salvation, and oppose the lies, correcting their behaviors accordingly, because this is the way men demonstrate love for our species, in general, and for each other, as in the case of Martin Luther King's martyrdom.

"I am the Truth, and the way, and the life".... John 14:6
