Hi I live in Buffalo NY. There is a church here in the area who had a Nativity Scene on the front area of their property and of course a group of people complained and said it was offensive to them. So the church moved there Nativity scene to the back of there property where no one could see it from the street. Well on the property near the street they erected a pentagram. I 'am so sick of this. So if there is any atheist satanist out there or other people that just don't want nativity scenes displayed. Too bad wether you like it or not Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Christ, that's it so just get over it. People celebrate Halloween now it's called a holiday, well that's offensive to me but I don't go around tearing decorations down, so if you others want to decorate your yards with a bunch of junk go ahead just don't mess with the Christmass decorations and keep your mouth shut. Do some good demostrate against the murder of the unborn child or the high gas prices.
MERRY,MERRY,MERRY, Christmas.

Yes Robert, I can understand your being upset. It's freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. And that goes for the nativity scene at the church you mentioned.
But getting all fired up about it isn't going to do much good. I suppose the "opposition" will scream just as loud if not louder in response to your post.

I could delete the post to prevent an ensuing shouting match but I'd rather not since it pretty much says the way things are going as freedom from religion. And I hope a shouting match won't come of this. If it does then I'll be compelled to delete the topic or move it to "Dead threads".

I'm just wondering how much more has to go on before we have to fight to regain freedom of religion again and the expression thereof.

Robert,

I think you made a very valid point and very well said. I would love to see your commentary published in as many newspaper editorials as possible. Would you be willing to give your permission for anyone of us to submit it to our local newpaper with the signature as follows? If you agree, I will send this off to my local new(s) papers editorial section! But only with your permission. If anything, I would love to pass it along via email to those on my list.

Why in the world did the church comply? I find that more disturbing than the complaints.

Dear: Relic
As far as I'm concerned you are free to use this artitcle if you want that is if the board does not
object.
Robert

I'm a little confused. I thought the Nativity was placed on public property and moved to the church when the complaints came. According to what I heard, the wiccan removed the pentacle as soon as the Nativity was moved to the church. Or was this a different case?
