You make it sound as though believing in the Holy Trinity is a whole other faith. Are you not a trinity? If we are also trinity's, why not call God the Holy trinity?

I am body, mind and spirit. That's a trinity.

Exactly, and we are made in the image of God. :thumb

Amen to that. That's what I'm sayin!!!!

You said it very well, too.

I just wish they'd have come up with a better description for the trinity, and used a different word than "persons". I see so many people making the mistake of thinking in human terms...as if they are more distinct than what God actually is. We have a body soul and spirit, but we are only one person.
My body does the work, I send it out, and my spirit empowers. It's a wonderful mystery for us piddley humans to try and comprehend since God is so much greater than we can even imagine.

Because 'persons' is exactly how many of us see and understand it :)
Why water down what we believe to cater to those who dont want to believe that Jesus IS His own person on the Godhead ?
WE arent gods, G...we cant compare our finite existence to an infinite God, Im afraid. Even if some want to cram Him into a box.
:)

Yes, you're right about that. It works fine for those who really know God.
I just left a board, however, where many professing Christians claimed to believe in the trinity, but insisted Jesus was not equal with the Father. They never saw Him as more than the son come to do the Father's bidding. God's right-hand man, if you will...never equal...always lesser...right up through and including Revealtion. I must have put up the verse, "He must reign until..." a hundred times to show He doesn't have to wait until the millennium to take the throne. They still insisted that verse meant He won't reign until all enemies are under His feet, because He was still under the subjection of the Father. Any verse about His being equal with the Father was said to be in the same way we are "one" with God. When I posted "Jesus is God", I was attacked. That's when I realized there were many who didn't really believe the "persons" of God were really the One God. It's hard to explain, but it came through loud and clear in the positions they took with other portions of scripture.
