I've noticed many new Christian bands coming out, IMO have forgotten what it means to praise God. What I mean is, concerts, lyrics, fame. I personally don't believe in going to see a Christian band because there popular, I know its about the message that there music brings, but even that has me confused. Most of the songs hardly mention God so who are they singing to ? I believe that many people have forgotten why Christian concerts are all about let alone the bands themself. Its all about the money now, and they have forgotten about God. Its just sad to see people use God as a form of buisness IMO. What's your opinion on this ?

I'm not sure which bands you're talking about. Do you have examples?

But if their message is right, then isn't it good that they've got fame? But I think the issue here is that they don't have the message? Well they still can be Christian, that doesn't mean that they have to have Christian lyrics. Not directly anyway. Look at bands like Switchfoot.

The important thing is the message, and that they're not using God to get fame for themselves. The fame is for God.

I agree with Nick here. OP, you pretty much lumped all Christian bands (and their delivering the Christian music) together. This is probably not the best way to go. For instance, I had both The Devil Wears Prada (metalcore) and the Vigilantes of Love (Americana/Folk) arrive today. While both bands know and serve the Lord, their delivery and outreach will (by definition) be quite different.

Please provide examples so we have a better idea of what you're talking about.

Sorry, I should have added that I was joking! :P

Seriously, people are people regardless of whether they are Christian or not. I'm sure there are many Christian bands who do not stay true to that label, but we should not let that cloud our views of Christian artists in general. And I don't think a word-count is necessarily an indicator to how godly an artists message is. Its the meaning of the message and the thoughts they convey to the listener that are important, not the words they use.

I agree, and I was glad you were joking! :-)
